AN ORDINANCE AMETdDING ORDINANCE NO. 16 OF TAE VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE BEIT7G AN ORDITANCE RELATING TO DOGS AND PROVIDING TfIE LICENSITdG OF DOGS ATdD DOG KENNELS. AND PROVIDITG PEP7ALTIES FOR THE VIO- CATION THEREOF. The Village Council of the Village of Lakeville does ordain: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 16 be_amended by amending Section 11 to read as follows: "Impounding dogs or cats after person bitten. Any dog or cat that has bitten a person shall immediately be impounded for at least 14 days and kept apart from other dogs or animals, until it is determined whether said dog or cat had or has rabies. Such impounding may be by the owner unless a complaint is signed which requires impoundment at the pound, and if it is not at the Village pound, the owner shall notify the Village Poundkeeper and shall furnish proof in writing that such dog is being so impounded. On expiration of such 14 days. if the dog does not have rabies he may be released and the Village Poundkeeper shall be notified just prior to such release. If the dog is impounded in such a pound, such dog may be reclaimed as hereinafter provided. Any dog that has been bitten by a rabid dog or believed to have been exposed to rabies shall be impounded and kept in the same manner and for the same. period of time," Section 2.
