HomeMy WebLinkAbout0041 ORDINANCE NO. 41 VILLAGE OF LAKF,VII,I,E DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNI~SOTA AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CUNCEALMI~,NT AND USE OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS. THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. 1Weapons Prohibited, No person shall wear under his clothes or conceal about his person or within a motor vehicle under his control or display fn a threatening manner, or sell, offer for sale or have in his possession, except in his own domicile, or carry or use any dangerous or deadly weapon, including, but not by way of limitation, revolvers, pistols, any sling shots, clubs, blacl~jacks, spring-guns, cross knuckles or knuckles of lead, brass or any other metal, or any Bowie knife or any knife resembling the Bowie knife or any knife with a switch blade or device where the blade or blades can be opened by pressure on a button or on the handle or any other mechanical contrivance. SECTION 2. Exception. The prohibition of this chapter shall not be construed to forbid any law enforcement officer from carrying any of said weapons as may be necessary in the proper discharge of his duties, nor shall this chapter prohibit the sale, posscssiou or carrying of a revolver or 13istol for legitimate sporting purposes providing; such revolver or pistol is not concealed. SECTION 3. Penally. Any person or persons violating any o£ the provisions of-this ordinance shall be guilty o!' a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300.00 or by imprison- ment in the County Jail for a period of not to exceed 90 days. SECTION 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its publication accord- ing to law. Enacted and ordained into an ordinance this 11th day of May, 197©.
