CITY OF LAKEVILLE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 14, 1988
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall by Mayor
Zaun. Roll call was taken. Present: Councilmembers Sindt, Nelson,
Harvey and Zaun. Absent: Enright.
Also present: Roger Knutson, City Attorney; Dennis Feller, Finance
Director; Patrick McGarvey, City Administrator/Clerk.
The City Administrator presented the cooperative agreement received
from the Minnesota Department of Transportation for construction by
the City and reimbursement by the State for the turn lanes on Highway
50 at 185th Street. The Council discussed the requirement to submit a
letter to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights pledging to have an
acceptable affirmative action flan from the City to the State by
December 1, 1988.
88.412 Motion was made by Sindt, seconded by Nelson to adopt Resolution No.
88-121 authorizing the mayor and city clerk to sign the cooperative
agreement with the State of Minnesota for the Highway 50 .turn lane
project at 185th Street.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, Nelson, Harvey, Sindt, Zaun.
The City Administrator explained that the contract with Alexander
Construction Company was originally let for the construction of the
185th Street portion of the 87-14 improvement project, now to be
replaced with a contract with Alexander Construction Company fir
Project 87-14 that would include-both the 185th Street part of the
project and the Highway 50 turn lane part. The contract for both
portions is $828,675.07, and the State was requesting approval of
change order number one on the contract with Alexander in the amount
of $25,288.16 for additional work the State wants to have incorporated
into the turn lane part of the project.
88.413 Motion was made by Harvey, seconded by Sindt to adopt Resolution No.
88-122 awarding the contract to Alexander Construction Company as the
low bidder on project 87-14 for both the 185th Street and Highway 50
turn lane improvement project.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, Harvey, Zaun, Sindt,
Nelson.
88.414 Motion was made by Nelson, seconded by Sindt to approve change order
No. 1 with Alexander Construction on project 87-14 in the amount of
$25,288.16 for additional work on the Highway 50 turn lanes, and
bringing the total value of the contract to $853,963.23, with the
State to reimburse the City $228,911.87,

88.415 Motion was made by Harvey, seconded by Nelson to adjourn the special
council meeting.
