CITY OF LAKEVILLE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 9, 1985
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Zaun at the City Hall
at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken. Present: Council members
Enright, Nelson, Harvey, Sindt and Mayor Zaun.
Also present: Dennis Feller, Finance Director; and Patrick
McGarvey, City Administrator/Clerk.
The city administrator gave a report on bids received on
September 6th for the Streetscape Improvement Project No. 85-3.
The city engineer reported that only two bids were received, and
that both of them were .substantially above the estimated cost.
The reasons given for this was the late start-up of the project
prior to winter and most of the contractors having work yet to
be completed in other projects before winter. The city engineer
recommended that the council reject the two bids and rebid the
project in December for a spring and early summer construction
schedule in 1986.
85.385 Motion was made by Harvey, seconded by Sindt to .receive the bids
and reject the bids as recommended by the city engineer, and
direct the staff to place the matter on the December 2nd council
agenda for another taking of bids.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, Enright, Nelson, Zaun,
Harvey, Sindt.
The city administrator advised the council of Mr. George
Warweg's suggestion that the city might want to purchase less
than 3.7 acres of land from him for the expansion of the Antlers
Park parking lot. The staff and council reviewed the conceptual
layout of the area and discussed the matter.
85.386 Motion was made by Enright, seconded by Nelson to advise Mr.
Warweg that the City is interested in the entire 3.7 acre
parcel, including the portion east of the old platted Indra Way,
if Mr. Warweg does not firmly want that portion of his property.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, Nelson, Zaun, Harvey,
Sindt, Enright.
