CITY OF r,axFtTILLE C©UNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY . 197+ 'I're meeting was called to Qrder at 8;~q P.M, by Mayor Jensen. Present,. Mako, Jensen, Emond and Clarkson. Also present; Robert Frigaard, City Engineer and Vance Grannis, Jr, substituting for Pat Farrell.. 7+.62 Motion by Mako seconded by Emond to accept the minutes of the January 21, 197+, meeting as corrected. Mako, Jensen, Emond and Clarkson Hoye", motion carried. 7+.63 Motion by Mako seconded by Emond to pay the claims against the City, copy attached. Jensen, Emond, Clarkson and Mayo "aye`:, motion carried. 7+.64 Motion by Jensen seconded. by Mako to adopt the resolution appointing Richard Brander to the City Council for the remainder of Michael Edwards term which runs until Dec. 31, 1975. Emo , Clarkson, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried. _ Mr. Brancl.es was sworn in as a member of the Council. Walter King, Jr, was sworn in as a Justice of the Peace. Mr. Gail Davis was sworn in as a member of the Industrial Commission to replace Sam Lien. .His term of office expires on Aug. 21, 1975. 74.65 Motion by Emond seconded by Clarkson to renew the Interceptor Maintenance Agreement Contract No. 142, copy attached, with the Metro Sewer Board for 1974. Clarkson, Mako, Jensen anti Emond "aye", motion carried. Brander A sma11 section of land in the Northwest portion of Antler's Park was discussed. 74.66 .Motion by Er~ond seconded by Mako to authorize the attorney to take the necessary steps to acquire this small section of land Brander, Mako, Jensen, Emond and Clarkson "aye", motion carried. A hearing iri regard to the Chart House. was discussed. 74.67 Motion by Jensen seconded by Mako to direct the attorney to .prepare a notice which states. the charges against the Chart House and direct the clerk to send out the notice as soon as prepared for a hearing to be held on the 28th day of February, 1974, at 7s30 P,M. at the City Hall. Mako, Jensen, Emond, Clarkson and Brander "aye", motion carried. The bids for the Iteri and Jacquard street improvements were presented, copy attached. 74.68 Motion by Emond seconded by Clarkson to accept the bids on the water and sewer extensions to Iter and Jacquard Avenues. Jensen, Emond, Clarkson, Brander and Mako "aye", motion carried. Mr. Fri~aaxd recommended that the council award the bid to the low bidder. 74.69 Motion by Mako seconded by Brander to award the contract to the low bidder, Fred Fredrickson, whose bid was ~70,253.5C. Emond, Clarkson,. Brander, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried. A letter from the Metro Sewer Board was reviewed by Mr. Frigaard. This is pertaining to the sewer rates, etc. 74.70 Motion by F~6nd seconded by Mako to authorize the issuance of duplicate coupons to the Western National Co. for the ones stolen and to require a bond in a sum double the amount of the obligation to be presented before the coupons are released, Clarkson, Brander, Mako, Jensen and Emond "aye", motion carried. ~1) CITY OF I,AK~'VTLLE COUNCIL MEEI'IlVG 4 FEBRUARY 197+ iJ A letter from .Dakota County Administrator regarding the road and bridge Rand vaas presented. 7+.71 Motion by Mako seconded by Brander to acknowledge the"notice of claim against bond for labor and materials on the Vern Donnay project" from Alexander Construction Co., Inc. Brander, Mako, Jensen, Emond and Clarkson "aye", motion carried. A letter from Nichols Construction Co. regarding the Final payment for work done on the maintenance building was discussed.. A resolution in re county wide mutual fire aid war turned over to the attorney for his review. 7+.72 Motion by Emond seconded by Mako te> adopt the resolution authorizing the mayor and the clerk to execute a contract for deed with Mr. and Mrs. A. Leonard Bentson for the purchase of Antler's Park and to direct the attorney to record the contract for deed.. The clerk is authorized to issue a check in the amount of ~5o,©D0 for the down payment of the property. Mako, Jensen, Emond, Clarkson and Brander "aye", motion carried. Mr. Bentson will record the documents to clear up .the title. 7+.73 Motion by Emond seconded by Jensen to authorize Mr. Farrell. to prepare the necessary resolution showing the correction for the assessments against the separate lots in Clay's Acres.
