The meeting was called to order by Mayor'Jensen at 8:05 P.M. Flag pledge
followod. Present; Brandes, Mako, Jensen, Emond and Clarkson. Also present;
Pat Farrell,. City Attorney, and members of the Credit River Town Board,
Albert Feltman, B11.Casey.,-Miles Mares and Joe Skluzacek,
Mr. Robinette, Public Works Director, gave a report on `the condition and special
problems of Judicial Road. There s.re many soft. spots,. much traffic and dust
on this road..
Many.interested property owners were present for this meeting.
Dick. Novak-said that ~rhen he had moved there, the traffic was light, but. now the
gun club 'is bringing in many people. The Freidhiem trucks are also using this
road..z and travelling too fast.,
Pat Smallwood said:.thatmanyhorse trailers are .also using this road.
The Credit River Board reported that. they are not on a regular grading schedule
and that-this work is contracted out.
Mrs. Hart asked what the .cost of paving. would be.
Mrs. Bartelds said that she would rather have the dust than; pay for paving.
PateLucy, a Scott County resident,. said that he would not be benefitted by a
- paved road and asked. who would hive to pay for the paving. He-also said that
the-speed limit should be reduced.
Leone Hammer felt that the speed limit should be controlled.
Gerald Smallwood said that the blacktop would: be used for .speeding... He said
than there are many speeders on Mi.nnreg Road.
Mr. Novak said that the residents of this area. had had a meeting and realized
that there would be paving in the future but would rather .suffer. with the dust and
save a few dollars withoutthe paving for a few years. He also recommended
that the speedlimit be reduced and this speed limit. be posted.
:The manager of the. gun club, Mr. Schmidt, said that the .business is on the
increase and he would inform all the members of the club if the Council had
.the speed limit posted. _Iie also felt that .there. should be a more uniform form
of maintenance for .this road and that the. weeds should be cut.
Mr. Mako said that he would be in favor of paving the road to the Country Club.
Mr. Farrell advised that there would be no trouble if .the Council would like
to enter into an agreement with Credit River for the maintenance of this road.'
7+.296 Motion by Mako seconded by Brander to instruct the attorney to draw up an
agreement that Lakeville agrees to maintain .Judicial Road from County 64 to
the Honeywell-Country Club with the cost split with Credit River Township.
The maintenance will consist of the .following: grading, chloriding, snowplowing,
mowing, more constant patrolling and the posting of the road for a 3o mile an
hour speed limit. Brander, Mako, Jensen, Eo~nd Clarkson 01aye", motion carried.
Motion by Emond seconded by :Clarkson to adjourn carried unanimously.
