HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-19-01 work session PLANNING COMMISSION WORK SESSION ...MEETING MINUTES JULY 19, 2001 On July 19, 2001, Mr. Tom Rasmussen was invited to speak to the Planning Commission regarding. his proposed front yard setback variance for the construction of anew home at 19834 Iteri Place. Associate Planner, Frank Dempsey wrote a staff planning report outlining the issues and the requirements of the Zoning Grdinance, including the establishment of hardship. Mr. Rasmussen discussed his plans and gave his reasons for pursuing the proposed 5 foot variance to allow a 25 foot front yard setback. The Planning Commission reminded Mr: Rasmussen about the Zoning Ordinance and state statute requirements that require the establishment of undue hardship that essentially proves that there is no reasonable use of the property that would eliminate or reduce the need for a variance. Mr. Rasmussen agreed that there may be other plans that would. work but the proposed plan. is the one desired by his buyer. The Planning Commission asked Mr. Rasmussen to amend the plan to comply with the Zoning Ordinance requirements.
