JANUARX 3~ 1972
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mako at 8 P.M. Flag: pledge
followed. Tnvoeation wasgiven by Father Rowan,. Present; Friedges,
Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft.
Also present; Robert Frgaard, Village Engineer and Pat Farrell, Village
Attorney.
72-1 Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to accept the minutes of the December 20,
1971, meeting as read. Friedges,_Clay' Mako, Sullivan and Taft "aye",
motion. carried.
72-2 Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to accept the :minutes: of the special
December 29, 1971, .'meeting as-read. :Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges
".aye", motion, carried.
Mr. Jensen was sworn in as Mayor and `took over the chair.. Mr. Jim Eanond
was sworn in as councilman and Walter. King,:-Jr. was sworn in as Justice of the
Peace.
72-3 Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to pay-the claims against the Village.
Friedges, Clay, Jensen, Sullivan and Emond "aye", motion carried.
The. Planning Commission minutes for. December 30, 1971, were read.
72-~ :.Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to table the request from Mr. Fossum
for a rezoning until Jan. 10,.1972. Clay, Jensen, Sullivan, Emond and
Friedges "aye", motion carried.
72-5 - Motion by Clay seconded b~ Friedges to follow the Planning Commission
recommendation and reappoint Richard Brandes and Ron VanBellinger to
the. Lakeville Planning Commission. ~ r
72-6 Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to grant the on Sale beer license
to the Lakeville Bowl. Sullivan, Emond, Friedges, Clay and Jensen "aye",
motion. carried.
72-7 Motion by .Sullivan seconded by Friedges to grant a garbage license to
Lester Frank. Emond, Friedges., Clay, Jensen and Sullivan "aye",.motion
.carried.
72-8 Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to :gram the renewal of the gravel
permit to Dow Aggregates. Friedges, Clay, Jensen, Sullivan and Emond "aye",
motion carried.
72-9 Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to grant a garbage license to Lakeville..
Sanitation. Clay, Jensen, Sullivan, Emond and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
72-10 Motion by Sullivan seconded by Emond to ac~Cnowledge.the petition for blacktop
from Wakely Investment Co. Jensen, Sullivan, Emond, Friedges and Clay "aye",
motion carried.
72-11 Letters from the Dakota County Tribune and the'Lakevlle Times were read..
Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to appoint the Lakeville Times
as official newspaper for the Village. Sullivan, Friedges and .Jensen "aye'',
Emond abstained, Clay opposed, motion. carried
72-12 Motion by Friedges seconded by Fmc~nd to appoint Mr. Clay acting Mayor.
Emond, Friedges, Clay,. Jensen and divan "aye", motion carried.
72T13 Motion by Clay seconded by Sullivan to appoint the First National Bank of
Lakeville legal depository. Friedges, Clay, Jensen, Sullivan and Emond
"aye", motion. carried.

7215 Motion by Clay seconded by .Friedges to appoint the firm of Bonestroo & Assoc.
as consulting engineers for the Village. Jensen, Sullivan, Emond, Friedges,
and Clay.."aye", Motion carried.
72-16 Motion by Sullivan .seconded by Clay to appoint Grannis & Grannie legal
consultants for the Village. Sullivan, Emond, Friedges, Clay a,nd Jensen

72-17 Motion by Jensen seconded by Friedges to appoint Paul Oxley Civil DeYense
director for the Village at X50 per month. Emond, Friedges, Clay, Jensen
and Sullivan "aye,',.. motion. carried.
72-1$ Motion by Friedges seconded by 'Clay to appoint the firm of Springstmd~nc.
as financial consultants. Friedges, Clay. Jensen, Sullivan and Emond "aye'',
motion carried.
72-19 Motion by Clay seconded by Sullivan to renew the gravel permit for Mrs.
Seeley and to waive the bond requirement as long as she takes less than
10,000 yards of gravel. Clay, Jensen, Sullivan, Emond and Friedges ".aye",
motion carried.
72-20 Motion by Friedges, seconded. by Clay to change the date of the second meeting
in February to the 15th instead of the 14th. Jensen, Sullivan, Emond, Friedges
and Clay "aye.", motion carried.
Mr. Cross' J.P. report was reviewed.
The clerk was instructed to write to Mr. Hitchcock and thank him for the
name blocks,
Motion by Clay seconded by Emond to adjourn was carried unanimously.
