VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL .MEETING
SEPTEMBER 7, 1971
• The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mako at 8.:00 P.M. Flag pledge.

Present: Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan. Absent.: Taft. Also present;
Robert Frigaard, engineer and Pat Farrell, attorney.
3082. Motion by Clay seconded by Sullivan to accept the minutes of the August 16,
1971 meeting. as read. Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Friedges "sye", motion. carried.
1083. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to accept the minutes of the August 23,
.1971 special. meeting as read.. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges and Clay "aye",
motion carried.
1084. Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to accept the. minutes of the August 30,
1971 special meeting: as read.' Sullivan, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye",
.emotion carried..
The Planning Commission .minutes for August 26,.1971 were presented.
1085. Motion by .Sullivan seconded by Friedges to follow the Planning Commission
recommendation and grant a special use permit to Patricia Hoffbeck to
operate a beauty shop in her home. Friedges, Clay,...Mako and Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
1086. Motion by Friedges. seconded by Sullivan to follow the Planning Commission
recommendation and grant Schubert Advertising Co. a permit to alter and
enlarge .their sign on the Denny .Dunham property South of Co. Road 70.
Clay, Mako, :Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
1082. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to follow the Planning Commission
recommendation and grant Dayton Kempson a permit to erect a sign at his
restaurant along Highway 50. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges and Clay "aye",
motion carried.
.1088. Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to follow the Planning Commission
recommendation and grant a building permit to Charles Rgnonti to construct
a Wausau home on a 3.25 acre site. Sullivan, Friedges, Clay and"Mako "aye",
motion carried...
1089.. Motioa by Clay seconded by Friedges to follow the Planning .Commission
xecammendation and grant Mr. Felix Tillges a building permit for altering

1090. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to follow the Planning Commission.

1091. Motion by Glay seconded by Friedges to table the recommendation of the'
Planning Commission to appoint Richard Brandes to fill the vacancy on the
Commission until a full council is present. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges and
Clay "aye", motion carried.
1092. Motion by Clay. seconded by Friedges to follow the Park & Recreation Committee.
recommendation and pay the assistant life guard at the Orchard :Lake Beach
$2.50 per hour. Sullivan, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried.
A number of residents from Oak Shores were present to discuss ..the development
of the gark land in their. area.
1093. A motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to have Midwest Planners make a study
of the park area in Oak Shores and come back with a recommendation to the
" Village council. Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye", motion carried.

The minutes of the September 1, 1971 Water & Sewer Committee meeting were read.
.Public hearing on acquisition of Forest Hills Water System was held..
1094. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to .make acquisition of the water system in
Forest Hills Addition, Lot 19, Block 2, authorize the attorney to prepare
necessary documents, and authorize the Mayor and clerk to sign. Clay, Mako,
Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
1095. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges-to accept the taxi ordinance, and the
fee to be $25.00 for each vehicle to be licensed. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges
and Clay "aye" ,motion carried.
1096. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to refer the amending of the ordinance.
pertaining to horses to the Planning Commission. Sullivan, Friedges, Clay
and Mako "aye",..motion carried.
Mr. Robert Davies representing Metro Cable Ine. was present and answered..
questions regarding the franchise for Cable T.V.
1097. Motion by Clay seconded by Sullivan to have the Village attorney draft an
ordinance pertaining to a franchise for Cable T.V. as agreed upon between
Village council and. Metro Gable Inc. Friedges.,. Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
1098. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to authorize the engineer to make a
preliminary report on water and sewer for the Chevrolet garage to be built
at the intersection of Granada Ave. & Highway 50 in Airlake Industrial Park.
Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
1099. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to acknowledge receipt of claim presented
by Kenneth Hullett for damage done by rust in-the water. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges
and Glay "aye", motion carried.
1100. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to issue an excavating permit to Peoples
Natural Gas to install 3" steel main in Airlake Park. .Sullivan, Friedges, Clay
and. Mako "aye", motion carried.
1101.: Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to acknowledge receipt of claim of .Michael
Jennings his Michael Regentz & The Village of Lakeville. Friedges, Clay, Mako and
Sullivan "aye", motian carried.
1102. Motion by Glay seconded by Sullivan to approve: the abatement for Albert W. Yanks.
Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
1103. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to approve the abatement for Ghristan & Edith
Gnerer. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges and Clay "aye", motion carried.
1104. Motion by Clay seconded by Sullivan to approve. the. abatement for Richard Cross.
Sullivan, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion. carried.
1105. Motion by Glay seconded by Friedges to approve the abatement for Mrs. Mildred
J. Miller. Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye", motion carried.
1106. ..Motion by Friedges 'seconded by Clay to acknowledge receipt of the report from
-Gene Prescher on the swimming. program at the Orchard Lake Beach. Sullivan., Friedges,.
Clay and. Mako 'Faye",.motion carried.
A letter was read-frow residents along 175th St. & Judicial Road requesting that
a security light be installed at the corner of 175th St. & Judicial Road.
A letter-from the 'Chicago, Milwaukee R.R. was read regarding the crossing on Holt
Ave. The engineer has met with them and agreed that the Village furnish the gravel
snd the blacktop for the repairs.

1107. Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to close the acceptance of application
~ for .the position of'Police Chief. Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
.1108. Motion by Friedges seconded by Mako to interview the applicants for Police
Chief on September 14, 1971. Clay, Mako, Sullivan and .Friedges,"aye", motion
carried.
.1109. Motion by: Sullivan seconded by Friedges to have the clerk write a letter to
Tom Thumb Food Markets informing them that the Village is not interested in
leasing the.. space they have available. Mako, Sullivan, Friedges and Clay
"aye", motion carried.
1110. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to authorize the Village attorney to
obtain a construction easement for sanitary sewer along Flagstaff Ave.
N.E. Quarter of Section 10. Sullivan, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye",
motion carried.
1111. A motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to authorize the Village attorney
to start condemnation of land proceedings in Glenn Addition, Project 71-4A.
Clay, Mako and. Sullivan "aye", Friedges abstained, motion carried.
Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to adjourn: carried::unanimously.
