HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-12-71 VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 12,1971 The meeting was called to order at 8:15 P.M. by Mayor Mako. Flag pledge followed. Present; Friedges, Clay, Mako and Taft. Absent; Sullivan. Alao present; Robert Frigaard, engineer. 1162. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to accept. the minutes of the Oct. 4, 1971, meeting as read. Friedges, Clay, Mako and Taft "aye", motion carried. The Oct. 6, 1971, Water & Sewer report was presented. llb3. Motion by Mako seconded by Taft to follow the recommendation of the Water & Sewer Commission and have the engineer prepare a preliminary report for water and sewer to be installed on 210th St. from Holyoke Ave. to the Mpls., Northfield and Southern Tracks. Clay, Mako, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. 1164. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to have the engineer complete. the. .comprehensive sewer .plan for the remaining portion of the Village.. Mako, Taft, Friedges and. Clay."aye", motion carried. 1165. Motion by Mako seconded by Clay to direct-the sewer. board with the use of the engineex,'s services to study the old sewer lines and come back to the council with a recommendation on what the Village will have to da to correct the leakage problem. .Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried. The Building Inspector's report was presented. 1166. Motion.. by Clay seconded by Friedges to have the clerk contact Dakota Electric to have the necessary lights installed (250W) in Valley Park. Friedges, Clay, Makoand Taft "aye",motion carried. 1167. Motion by Taft seconded by-Mako to write to Dakota County and request that stop signs be installed at Dodd Rd. and Foliage and at County 46 and Foliage. Clay, Mako, Taft and Friedges "aye",emotion carried. 1168. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to approve the Cable TV ordinance subject to the attorney`s approval. Mako, Friedges and Clay "aye", Taft opposed, motion carried. .The hearing on bhe budget was opened. Mr. Mako explained the. proposed budget to audience. 1169. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to adopt budget as proposed. Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried. 1170. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to transfer $40,000 from the liquor fund to the General Fund. Friedges, Clay, Mako and Taft."aye", motion carried. 1171. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to have the clerk place the monies in the described accounts as shown on the attached list. Clay, Mako, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. Mr. Frigaard will work somethin~up on State Aid for Roads within the next three weeks. 1172. Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to pay the extra man $3 per hour. Mako, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye", motion carried. 1173. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to have lights place at 175th and Judicial Rd. and at the .Orchard Lake Beach area. Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried. (1) VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 12, 1971 , 1174. -Motion by Friedges seconded by Taft to p~nrchase the two way radio system as described by Mr. Clay subject to contract for trade ian of same. Friedges, Clay, Mako. and Taft "aye", motion carried.. Mr. Frigaard presented a preliminary report for street construction on Hughes Ave. The date for the hearing will be set on the. 18th.. Mr. Frigaard also reported .that the price quote for placing a 30" class 5 culvert under the Milwaukee tracks would be approximately. $900 or $30 per ft. It was .suggested Ghat other quotes be obtained. 1175. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to approve the revisions to the by-laws of the Lakeville Volunteer Relief Association. Clay, Mako, Taft and Friedges "aye', motion carried.. ..1176..... Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to accept the petition from Mz. Lyden and refer it to the Water & Sewer Commission. Mako, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye", .:motion carried. Mr. Clarkson presented the council Frith a list of streets that need stop signs, street name signs and speed signs. 1177. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to adjourn. Taft "aye",..Friedges and Clay aPPosed, motion... defeated. .1178. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to pay the bills twice monthly.
