HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-04-71 a, a ~ r , VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING--JANUARY 4, 197 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen followed by the flag. pledge. Harry Clarkson, councilman, Clingy Cross, justice of the peace and Jo Ann Taft, deputy clerk were sworn in. Present: Clarkson, Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan.:, Also present, ~t~ Grannis, attorney. G 562. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to accept the minutes of the Dec. 21, 1970, meeting as read. Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Clarkson "aye", motion carried... 563. Motion by Friedges seconded by Mako to approve the Dec. 28,.1970., minutes as corrected. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", .Clarkson .abstained, motion carried. The Planning Commission report for Dec. 30, 1970 were presented by the Village inspector. 564. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to follow the Planning Comm. recommendation and grant a non-conforming use permit to Janet Hammer and John LaFavor to establish a cabinet shop subject to reviewal after two: years. Jensen, Sullivan, Clarkson, Friedges and Mako "aye'°, motion carried. .565. Motion. by Sullivan seconded by Mako to send a bill to Mr. Lyden for work done by the Village and to advise him that he has twenty days to pay before further action is taken. Sullivan, Clarkson, Friedges, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried. 566. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to have the street crew plow out the road for Minnreg's and charge them $15 per hour. The crew~~•will keep track of the time. Clarkson, Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. sanding Mr. Jensen reported that Northwestern Gravel had a courser/material they would like the Village to try as it was. longer lasting on the ice. Mr. Henry was to be advised to try a load. Mr. Eakin of the Lakeville Times presented a bid for publishing the Village legals. It was decided to get quotes from both newspapers. before making any appointment and to .have. the attorney find out the legal requirements for appointing same. 567. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clarkson approving the renewal of all Council appointments except the Village newspaper and appointing Harry Clarkson to fill Fred Taft's position on the committees. Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Clarkson "aye", motion carried. 568. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to transfer the money in the Equipment Fund to the General Fund. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Clarkson and Friedges "aye", motion carried. s r } PAGE TWA-VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING Jan. 4, 1971 Some of the residents mentioned that snowmobilers were keeping. the children in Valley Park from using the hill for sliding. Bill Hoffbeck was to be asked to make some signs to warn snowmobilers.:;° Clint Cross' Justice of the Peace report was reviewed by the council. Mr. Lyden and the council discussed his outstanding bill but no agreement was reached as to the payment. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to adjourn approved unanimously. P~ieeting adjourned.
