HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-12-71 ~ ~ i. • J r VILLAGE -0F LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 12, 1971 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mako at 8:05 P.M. Flag pledge followed. Present; Friedges, Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft. Also present; Village attorney, Pat Farrell. 734. Motion by ,Clay seconded by Sullivan to approve. the minutes for April 5, 1971. Clay,. Mako, Sullivan and Friedges"aye",.Taft Abstained, motion carried. The Planning Commission report of;Apri1 8, 1971, were read by R. Jensen. 735. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to follow the Planning Commission recommendation and approve the final plat of Gold Medallion Corp. subject to a development contract.. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye" motion carried. 736. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to follow the Pianning Commission recommendation and grant building permits to Gold Medallion Corp, .Sullivan, Taft,.Friedges, Clay .and Mako "aye", motion carried. 737. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to follow the Planning Commission recommendation and grant a building permit. to Felix Tillges subject to the opinion of/ roper zoning. Taft, Friedges, Clay, Mako and sullivan "aye", motion carried. the Village attorney for..- William Hix, representing-Green Giant Co., explained to the council that he would like to .get an opinion on the amount of labor available. for the summer canning program at Montgomery, Minn. They would hire a bus and drive these people to work from Lakeville during the work season. There will be more checking into this when the season approaches. The Village inspector presented the building report for March. Tate burning ordinance was discussed and it was decided that the council water and sewer committee will check into a municipal dump. 738. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to follow the recommendation of the Water & .Sewer Committee and buy a flouride unit for well ~~l in Valley Park. Friedges, Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried. Bill Kemplan appeared to request that the council reconsider its decision regarding the Weisner property. No action was .taken. A1`Patenaude also requested some information in regards to building a road on some property he wishes to sell. Russ Tripp requested that the council do something ,in regard to the property next to him as he thought that there were rats there. The Village inspector will check. this out. 739. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to seed the westerly 20 acres of the new village property and Mr. Friedges and Mr. Sullivan will meet with Mr. Herres regarding the remaining acreage and report back. to the council on. April 19. Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. 740. Motion by Ciay seconded by Friedges to have a letter sent to the state representatives giving the .reasons why the Village of Lakeville council is opposed to county zoning ~ Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye", motion carried. u, PAGE ONE i • VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 12, 1971: 741. Motion by Mako seconded by Taft to send the Midwest Planning Contract back to the Park & Recreation Committee for review in the light of what Mr. Gustafson has to say. Sullivan,. Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried. ~~s ~ A letter advising the Village of a rate increase ~aas read to the council. Other miscellaneous letters were presented to the council. The-J.P reports were reviewed. 742. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to register opposition to the fiscal disparities bill with the legislature. Taft, Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye",`motion carried. 743. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to adopt the resolution regarding cigarette and liquor tax apportionment. Friedges, Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion. carried.. 744. Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan accepting the letter of petition from-Gene. Trager. .Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges ''aye'', motion carried.. 745.. Motion by Mako seconded by Clay adopting the responsibilities of the Park & Recreation Committee and making this part of their by-laws. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and.
