Present; Friedges, Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft. Also present; Village attorney:, Pat Farrell` and Village engineer, Bob Frigaard. 746.- Motion by Sullivan seconded by Clay to accept the minutes of the... April 12,.1971,.meetng as read. Friedges,: Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft..."aye", motioncarried. 747. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to pay the claims against the Liquor"Store.. Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. 748. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to pay the Village claims. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye", motion carried. The minutes of the Park and Recreation meeting of April 14, 1971, were read. 749. Motion by Clay seconded by Sullivan to instruct the Park & Recreation committee to seek more information into the cost of installing lights for the tennis courts at the school. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried. Earth Day was discussed with the schools represented by Chris Miller, Georgia Sauber and Terry Farrell. They requested a book of ordinances-and brushed and paint. These were to be .provided. 75U. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to .table the contract re. park land until later. Taft, Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. 751. Motion-by Friedges seconded by Taft that Mr. C1av and Jim Emond checkout the prices of different .satellite units..: The lowest priced units wi].1 be used ..and 2 or 3 as needed placed in the J.C Park and at the school. Friedges, Clay, Mako, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried. 752. Motion by Glay seconded by Sullivan to furnish a building for starage of equipment-at the school. Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. 753. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to table consideration of the snowmobile ordinance until after the .legislative session ends. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye",.motion carried. Bob Burger of Vern Donnay's presented his preliminary plat but as no recommendation had been received from. the Planning Commission regarding this plat, a special joint meeting of the council, Planning Commission and Park committee will be held at 8 P.M. on Thurs. April 22, 1971. 754. Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to instruct. the clerk to write a letter to the Planning Commission to review the existing procedure far the review and approval of plats in the subdivision ordinance. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried. The continuation of the hearing on the proposed sidewalk improvement was opened at 9:12 P.M. Mr. Pelack of the telephone company explained that company has proposed a major conduit for the length of main St. and east on Highway 50 is set up for 1972. These would be placed adjacent to street side next to curbing. r • . PAGE TWO VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 19, 1971 Tom Sloan of the hTorthern States Power Company suggested ornamental poles and a system belonging to the Village. For the. best lighting,`he suggested placing poles on both sides of the block. Mr. Farrell 'said that this .improvement could be assessed against property owners.. A cost estimate should be obtained and this hearing postponed. An additional hearing should be ordered for the petition after a feasibility study is presented on the 10th of May by NSP. 755. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to continue this hearing until the 3rd Mon. in May and to order. an additional hearing on the 17th of May for street lighting, Taft,. Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. Mr. Hrkal appeared before the council to request that it reconsider its position regarding the Weisner property. I~r. Hrkal who said he is representing himself and property owners.Anderson, Eklund, Wood and Carpenter, said that tir. Kemplan would like to buy the remaining Weisner praperty and place-a mobile home .there until he could build. The property owners said they would have the road built themselves and then dedicate it to the Village. It was suggested that a deed for the easement would have to be .obtained from Mr. Weisner or whoever would buy the property. Mr. Frigaard and Mr. Hrka1 will look at the existing. road and report back with .some possibilities. fore same. 75b. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to appoint Louie Emond weed inspector at $500 for tie year. Friedges, Glay, Mako, Sullivan. and' Taft "aye",,.motion carried. 757. Motion by Friedges-seconded by Clay`to enter into an agreement with D. H. Gustafson & Assoc. for professional services in regard to the ,new Village property. Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. It was reported that Mr. Berres'will plant corn on the. land he rents from the Village and be careful about. applying the chemicals. 758. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to have,~new arm rests installed at the liquor store at the cost of $355.00. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye_'', motion carried. The attorney was requested to bring samples of a Green River Ordinance. i~1r. Frigaard.-will check out some roads with Mr. Sullivan.. The engineer will send a letter to Mr. Loken to request that the drainage easement in Oak. Shores 3rd Addition be cleaned out. 759. Motion by Clay seconded_by Friedges to accept the-storm sewer lateral improvements in Valley Parke 3rd and release the improvement bonds for said improvements subject to maintenance bond.. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Clay and .Mako."aye" , motion carried. 760. Motion by Clay seconded 'by Taft accepting the resolution re Honey Sunday. Taft, Friedges, Clay, Mako and Sullivan "aye'', motion carried. 761. Motion by Taft seconded by ,Sullivan to grant on and .off .sale beer licenses to New Antlers Park. Motion by Taft. seconded by Sullivan accepting the letter of resignation presented by Walter King, Jr. Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft .and Friedges „aye", .motion carried. The clerk was_nstructed to contact Mr. King and ask him to meet with the council. at 7:30 P.M. Thursday evening. 763. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to set the hours of 4 to 8 P.M. on the 10th of June for the Board-of Equalization meeting. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Clay "aye", motion carried. from.Gus Lyden A letter/was presented to .the council requesting blading of Jersey Way. 764. Motion by Mako seconded by Sullivan inform Mr. Lyden that. the Village blade would grade Jersey Way for one month at the rate of $15 per hour upon his signing an agreement to this effect.
