VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 24, 1971
The meeting was called to order at 8 P.M. Present; Friedges, Clay, Mako,
Sullivan: and Taft.. Also. present; R. Frigaard, Village engineer.
The ~~bulation of the bids which were opened at 2 P.M. was presented to the
council by Mr. Frigaard and he recommended that the council accept the
low bidder for this project.
820. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to accept the low bid of R. Glende Const.
Co. for $29,335. Friedges,-Clay, Mako, Sullivan. and Taft "aye", motion
...carried.
Glen Klotz regested information re the Patenaude land. It was suggested
than he place the houses on the lots so that it could be subdivided at a
later date. There was also an easement discussed which would run .through
the back lots. Mr. Klotz does not want to subdivide and would need a
variance of ordinance for lots less than 2~ acres. Mr. Sullivan made
a motion to follow the Planning Commission recommendation but later
'withdrew the same.- The clerk was instructed to call the Village attorney
and get an opi~~on on whether or not the council could grant Mr. Klotz
a variance without his .having to go to the Planning Commission.
Nich Mahowald requested hat the council consider buying a new squad. car
as it was badly .needed.
821. Motion by, Clay seconded by Sullivan to empower the police committee and Mr.
Mahowald to get quotes on cars and. come back to the council with the same.
Clay, Mako, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried.

822. Motion by Taft. seconded by Clay to grant Donnay no more permits/until
he settles up his account with the Village.. Mako, Sullivan, Taft,
Friedges and Clay "aye", motion carried.
The clerk was instructed'to place Leonard Benison on the agenda for
June 7.
It-was suggested that there should be a step by step form for all developers
to follow.
The matter of .quack. grass on the .new Village. park was discussed. Mr.
Sullivan will see that this is taken care of.
823. Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to grant Mr. Lyden an excavating permit.
Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Clay and Mako "aye", motion carried.
It was mentioned that Mr. Donnay should be informed of the action taken
at this meeting. and.requested to attend a meeting to discuss this matter.
Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft ~o adjourn carried unanimously...
