Flag. pledge followed. .Present; Friedges, Clay, Mako and Taft. Absent; &ullivan. Also present; Robert Fri~aard, engineer and Dave Grannis, attorney. 874.. Motion by Friedges seconded by Taft to accept the minutes of the June l4, 1971, meeting as read. Friedges:, Mako, Clay and Taft "aye'; motion carried. _ 875. Motion by Taft seconded by Clay to pay the liquor bills. Mako, Clay, Taft.: and Friedges "aye", motion. carried. 876. Motion by .Friedges seconded by Clay to make the final payment to Erickson Erickson and accept he Airlake Project water & sewer extension. Clay, Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried. 877. Motion by Clay seconded by Friedges to make. the final payment to Don Parrott and accept the. portion of water & sewer extensions in Airlake Park. Taft, Friedges, Mako and Clay "aye", motion carried. 878. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to make the final payment to Associated Contracting and accept the Valley Park 3rd Storm Sewer. Friedges, Mako, Clay and Taft "aye", motion carrl~d. 879. Motion. by Taft seconded by Clay to pay the Village bills and the Glen Chevrolet bill that had been held up. Mako, Clay, Taft and .Friedges "aye", motion carried. The clerk was instructed to have the procedure .for picking up dogs and fees published in .the paper. Mr. Corcoran and a group of about 30 8th graders visited the council meeting. 880. Motion by Taft seconded by Friedges. to grant set-up license to Seagrt Ballroom. Mako, Clay, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried.: Mr. James Gabiou, Dakota County engineer, explained to the council how C.S.A.H. 70 could be improved. 881. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to accept the letter from the engineer. (copy attached).: Clay,. Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried. 882. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to graxtt an on sale beer license to .the J.C's for July 18th at the fee of $10. Taft, Friedges, Mako and Clay "aye", motion carried. George Warweg asked if a rezoning of his land in 1961 was still valid but was -advised that he would have to go through the legal procedure for this. L. Thompson, a resident of Clay's Acres, requested that the .council pass some. regulation to control the keeping of horses on too small lots in the Village. He was advised to take this matter to .the Planning Commission. 883. The airconditioning bids were opened and read. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to table the bids. Friedges, Mako, Clay and Taft "aye", motion ..carried. The clerk was instructed to write Northern Natural Gas a letter of thanks for the radios. that. have been donated to the Village. Vandalism of street signs was discussed. Mr. Friedges advised the council that Cemetary Assn. would like tobuy.1 or 2 acres of the Village property so that they can .have .room to expand. It was decided to have the engineer write a letter to the sewer ..board in regard to this matter. 884,. Motion by Clay seconded by Taft to close the applications for the maintenance position. Mako, Clay, Taft and Friedges "`aye", motion carried. The gravel bidswere opened. and read. 885. Motion by Friedges seconded by Clay to award. the contract to the low bidder, Jay Hullett. Copy of bid attached. Clay, Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", .motion carried. 886. Motion by .Clay ..seconded by Taft to grant an excavation permit to Denny Dunham. Taft,. Friedges, Mako and. Clay °'aye", motion carried. 887. Motion by Friedges seconded by Taft to accept the bid of Lakeville Appliance for. the airconditioner subject to, this being confirmed by the engineer to the clerk.
