VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE--COUNCIL MEETING--JULY 6, 1970
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen. The flag
pledge was given. Pxesent; Taft, Sullivan, Mako, Jensen and Friedges.
257. Motion by Friedges seconded. by Sullivan to .accept the June 15,:1970,
minutes as read. .Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye",
motion carried.
The Planning Commission report for June 25, 1970, were read
by Jerome Clay.
.Bernie Grubisch showed the plans of Rosemount Partitions to
the council.
258. Motion by Mako seconded. by Friedges to follow the. Planning Commission
recommendation and .grant a building permit to Rosemount Partitions.
Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges:;"aye'!,. motion carried.
259. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to follow the Planning Commission
recommendation and grant the rezoning to commercial-industrial
to R. F. Kirkman , legal description attached. Jensen, Sullivan,
Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried..
260. Motion by Mako seconded by Jensen to follow the P.C. recommendation
and appoint Joel Haglund to the Planning Commission. Sullivan, Taft
and Friedges "so", Mako and Jensen "aye",emotion failed.
261. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to appoint Denny Dunham to
the Planning Commission. Friedges and Sullivan "aye", Taft,. Mako and.
Jensen "no", motion failed.
Felix Tillges presented his final plat of Park Terxace 3rd
Addition to the council. Mr. Farrell said he would like see. the title
opinion and felt that there should be some development contracts
before signing this hardshell. Mr. Farrell .will review this matter
hn~ore Mon, July 13, 1970.
Harry Clarkson gave the Water and Sewer report for June 24, 1970.
Proposed. Sewer Hookups for industrial and commercial properties
were recommended.
262." Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to accept the recommendation
of the Water $ Sewer Committee and charge the attached rates to
industrial and commercial properties.. Friedges, Mako, Jensen,
Sullivan and Taft "aye",.motion carried., Rates attached.
The clerk was instructed to bill Airlake for hookup charges.
Oscar Soderiand and Arlan Henke, representing Dakota Electric
Association,. appeared before the council to request a franchise for
the area they service. They showed a mag of the-area they S~e~rce
in Lale~vi.iie and Credit River and skid they had apprt~~imat~ly 1400
meters in this area and had been in business since 1937.
i Mr. Farrell recommended that .the Village should have a
franchise ordinance with one or more hearings on this matter. It is
imperative that the council meet with both of the power companies,..
on this matter. 9 P.M. on Mon. July 13, 1970, was set for this
meeting if NSP is available.
Oscar Ramberg appeared with Mr. Bury, Pres. of Midwest Asphait Co.
to request information for setting up buildings and performance bond
in regards to his gravel pit operation. He was referred to the
building inspector.

Nich Mahowald_reported on two different radar machines.
This matter was referred to the Police committee and a report will
be forthcoming .
It was reported that the cost of printing 300 zoning
ordinance books would be about $85.
There was a complaint regarding. Viking Engineering and it
was decided to call Ed Wick of the PCA to come down. to inspect this
situation.
Robert McNevin asked that the satellite in the Buffer Park
be moved as children were. playing in it.
Robert Jensen reported that anew mower and tractor had been.
bought from Carlson Equip. Co. of Rosemount.
263. Motion by Taft seconded by Friedges to set the. notary fee at $1.
Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
264. Motion. by Friedges seconded by Mako to accept personal checks in
payment of car .licenses. Jensen, Sullivan, Friedges and Mako "aye",
Taft opposed, motion carried,.
265. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to hire~A. Sauser. Sullivan,
Taft, Friedges, Mako. and .Jensen "aye", motion carried.
26b. Motion by Mako seconded by Taft to pay the part time help in the office
$2.50 per hour. Taft, Friedges, Mako, Jensen, and Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
267. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to approve the ad for part time
help. Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried..
268. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to paint the Pillage Hall the
same color as the water tower .and the inside of the hall beige.
Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges !"~.ye" motion carried.
269. Motion. by Taft seconded by Friedges to start a petty cash fund for
license plates with a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $500. Friedges'_
Jensen, .Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried.
It was decided to have the phone company representative
into the next meeting to discuss the Village Hall phones.
Mr. Farrell reported that Riley Lewis had requested that the
council reconsider its decision regarding the eviction. The council
decided to let their decision stand.
270. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to have the clerk write Mr.
Tom Vucinovich that it has b~ren brought to the council's attention
that he is not cleaning up his property around the Tastee Freeze.
The council requests that this property be cleaned up at the end
of each. business day. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Mako and Jensen "aye",
motion carried.
271. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to grant D $ M Hauling a
garbage permit. Taft, Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
The Lakeville police are going to check the time, place
and date that Rosemount Sanitation collects in Valley Park and
notify Mr. Farrell of this.

272. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to renew the set-up license
for Antlers Park. Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye",
motion carried.
273. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to renew the set-up licenses
fox the Lakeville Bowl and Minnxegs. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft
and Friedges."aye; motion carxied.

were read. Clint Cross J.P. xepgrt was reviewed.
274. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to approve the mayor's
signing the lakeshore improvement permit application for F. H. Seitz.
Jensen, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried.
Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to adjourn. Sullivan,
Taft, Friedges,, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried.
