Present Jensen, Mako, Sullivan and Friedges. Absent; Taft. 288. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges that the minutes of the July 13, 1970 meeting stand as read. Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan 'Faye", motion .carried. 289. Motion by Mako seconded by Sullivan that the minutes of the Equalization Meeting of July 14, 1970 stand as read. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried. 290. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges that the minutes of the special meeting July 1'~, 1970, be accepted as read. Jensen, Sullivan, Friedges and Mako "aye",.motion carried. 291. Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to pay the Village bills. Sullivan, Friedges, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried. 292. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako to pay the Liquor Store bills. Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. Paul Oxley, the Village Civil Defense Director, presented a short report to the council and asked them their feelings on :installing air raid sirens or some other form of communicationsr Most of the council felt that this should be done by radio at the present time. The Bill Jackson preliminary plat was presented to the council again with the information that Mr. Gabiou said that the highway .department had. no plans for the Nw corner. of this plat. 293. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako`to approve .the preliminary plat of Bill Jackson subject to changes by including the property on which the hoase is located. hfgko, Jense, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried, Leonard Bentson, representing Lakeville Parking, Inc. and the Lakeville Laundromat, appeared regarding the hearing on the-.sidewalk ' petition. He asked that this hearing be continued and said that the petition would be resubmitted with some-`additions. A letter from Mrs. Heller was also read in which she asked that the hearing be postponed. (Letter attached.). 294. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako. to continue this informal hearing for one month. Jensen, Sullivan,. Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried. The following price quotes were submitted'by the police committee for radar equipment. They felt that the more expensive was .the more effecient. TR6 Traffic signal---$1,785. Decatur radar 2,300 at 1 785 295. Motion by Jensen seconded by Mako to pruchase the Tr6,~which~has a 2 year guarantee and the seller would send someone out to train all the police. Sullivan, Friedges, Mako and Jensen."aye", motion carried. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to change the yearly fee suggested to $10 for business signs. Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. 297. Motion by Friedges .seconded by sullivan adopting the remaining fee schedule as presented for signs. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried. John Anderson and Victor Ecklund, residents of Weisner Addition appeared for the informal hearing on this addition. Mr. Anderson said he would like to see a road built at Village standards in this addition so that it could be plowed in the winter. Mayor jensen informed the two residents that if this road were put in by the Village, all costs would be assessed back to the property owners and that all easements ahould be dedicated or bought by the Village. Mr. Farrell was instructed to check and see how many easements could be obtained. The improvement could be ordered after this information is obtained. Mr. Frigaard reported that. he will send a letter with a list of improvements he is recommending before the Village accepts the Oak Shore Drive Road. 298. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to accept the Minn. State Plumbing Code in Coto. Sullivan, Friedges, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried. 299. Motion by Jensen seconded by Friedges to adopt a resolution urging ratification of Amendment #1, enabling the legislature to define or limit certain categories of tax-exempt property etc. (copy attached), Friedges,. Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. Roger Kranz appeared to request that something be done about speeders on the road between the Village Hall and Dodd Road. This is to be checked out. .300. Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to have the Mayor sign the lakeahore improvement nit Lake Marion for Roger Sather. mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Friedges "aye", motion carried. _r PAGE THREE--COUNCIZ MEETING--JULY 20, 1970 Mr. Ackerman was instructed to try to obtain easements from James Carlson -7405 Upper 167th St. and Raymond Wolf- 7406 Upper 167th St. College Park Est Addition,-fora sidewalk between these two properties. from the cul-de-sac to the park. A meeting was set for Mon. July 27, 1970, to interview applicants for the part time office position. 301. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako to accept the final project o£ the Valley Park pumphouse. Jensen, Sullivan, Fieges and Mako "aye', motion carried. Motion by Friedges seconded by Mako to adjourn. Motion carried.
