VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE--COUNCIL MEETING--AUGUST 10, 1970
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen followed
by the .flag pledge.
Present; Mako, Jensen, Friedges, Sullivan and Taft.
315. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to correct and present the
minutes of the Aug. 3, 1970, meeting at the Aug. 17, 1970 meeting.
Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried.
The building inspector presented his report.
316. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to authorize the inspector
to capon Nick DeGross to assist on the plumbing inspection of
commercial buildings.. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges
"aye", motion carried.
Joel Haglund was sworn in as a member of the Planning
Commission.
Vic Kohlnhofer,explained to the council the reason it would
be impossible to insure .against mysterious disappearance. He said
there must be a felonious entrance to get coverage. He also explained
.the. coverage needed for Village Funds and on equipment.
Fallowing are rates for such:
$1000 inside and outside holdup at $20 per thousand proprated
to Dec. 5, 1970.
$2000 mercantile open stock at $12 per thousand-proprated to
Dec. 5, 1970.
317. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to extend the coverage as per
Mr. Kahlnhofer's proposal~to Dec. 5, 1970.
Jense~~ Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye",motion carried.
318. Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to authorize Mr. Kohlnhofer
and the clerk to prepare some specs for insurance bids..
Sullivan, Friedges, Mako, and Jensen "aye", Taft opposed, motion
carried.
A letter from the Mili~aukee Railroad in Chicage was read
to the council.. It was in regard to leasing or renting the old
depot for a youth center. It way decided to`have Mr. Friedges call
R. L. Martin of the Milwaukee R.R. in Aberdeen, S. D. to see if
there is anything more that can be done..
Mr. Mako reported that the county engineer and a member of
the PCA would be in Lakeville on Wed.,. Aug. 12, 1970, to inspect the dump.
It was reported that Minnreg's would like to have more
chloride spread on Minnreg Road. .The Village engineer will be contacted
to see if there is some. other solution to this prob~~m.
319. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to approve the bid of C. Hemstrom
for a counter for the Village Ha11 at the price quoted $295. delivered.
Taft., Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried.
Robert Sayers appeared to explain that he had been in contact
with the University and that Roger McMeier would come to the
Planning Commission meeting on Thurs., Aug. 13, 1970, on a consulting
fee basis of $75 to explain lot sizes in relation to sewage systems.

He felt a criteria was needed to set up lot sizes.
A motion by Friedges to have Mr. Sayers check .with the Planning
Commission and: Mr. McMeir was withdrawn.
320. .Motion by Taft seconded Mako to authorize. the expenditure of $75
and have Mr. McMeier come to the Planning Commission meeting of
August 13, 1970.:
Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Taft "aye", Sullivan opposed, motion
carried.
The Walter King, Jr. Justice report was reviewed by the
council.
.Motion by Friedges seconded by Sullivan to adjourn. Mako, Jensen,
Sullivan, Taft .and Friedges "aye", motion carried
