HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-02-70 4 `i • ~ • f ~ ' N" 4 VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE-COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 2, 1970 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen followed by the flag: pledge. Present; Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft. .Also present; Pat Farrell, Village Attorney. It was stated that the purpose of this meeting was to discuss land purchase of Taylor property for future site of Village Hall and park. Leonard Bentson, representing Ernest Taylor, said that Mr. Taylor would like to seal to the best advantage for himself.. He mentioned that the price had ended up at $1250 per=acre. Mr. Pat Sullivan, representing Bud Berres, stated that :they thought that Mr. Taylor .had agreed to sell to Mr. Berres for $IOQU per acre. He also inquired into the possibility of dividing the land. Pat Farrell told the council that there was two ways this land purchase could be handled, 1.~ by direct purchase-on a cash basis or installment basis of contract for deed. 2.) by condemnation procedure. These would have to be harried out according to .law. 344. Motion by Mako seconded by Taft to adopt resolution as drafted by Mr. Farrell {copy attached). Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Taft "aye", Sullivan abstained, motion carried. Work on the budget was postponed until the Park & Recreation Committee brings in a breakdown of their request for 1971. Motion by Friedges seconded by Mako to adjourn. Motion carried. Respectfully. submitted, Clerk M
