' VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLECflTJNCIL MEETING-I?ECEMBER 21, 1970
' The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen followed by +.,he
flag pledge. Present; Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft.
Also present; Pat Farrell, Village attorney and Bob Frigaard, Village
engineer.
535. Motion by Sullivan secorn~ed by Taft that the minutes of the I)ec. 14,
1970, meeting stand as read. Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan arn3
Taft "aye", motion carried.
536. Motion by Friedges seconded"by Mako to accept the minutes of the
special Dec. 17, 1970, meeting as read. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan,
Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried.
537. Motion by Taft secorn~ed by Friedges to approve payment of the
.Liquor store bills. Jensen, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges arnj Mako "aye",
motion carried.
538. Mako made a motion seconded by Taft to pay the Village bills with
the exception of 6271 .which will be voided. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges,
Mako arn3 Jensen "aye",motion carried.
Paul Oxley, Civil Defense Ihrector, reported that he had
attended the Dakota County Elected Officials Conference in Hastings,
Herb Lambert read the minutes of .the special meeting of the
Park and Recreation Committee of;I)ee. 16, 1970.
539. Motion by Taft seconded by Friedges that:; he Parke& Recreation
Commmittee be authorized to purchase two heaters. for the warming
houses. Taft, Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried.
540, Motion by Mako secornjed by Friedges to accept the Park & Recreation
Committee's recommernjation to authorize the expenditure .~'ar lights
at the Valley Park skating rink and award the bid to the lowest bidder'
Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried.
Valley Electric at 1,145.00
A letter regarding snowmobiles was presented by Mr. Mako and this
will be published in the paper.
541. Motion by Jensen seconded by Taft to accept this letter as presented
and publish it in the paper. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges
"aye", motion carries.
542. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to extend the employment
of Mrs. Corcoran at the youth center to the end of the school year..
Jensen, Sullivan~~,Taft, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried.
The minutes of the Water & Sewer Commdttee for Inc. 16, 1970,
were read.
543. Motion by Friedges seconded by Taft to accept the. minutes of the
Water & Sewer Committee meeting of I)ec. 16, 1970. Sullivan, Taft,
Friedges, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried.
Robert McAllister, clog catcher, explained to the council the
reason why he cannot notify owners of dog pickups immediately.
It was decided to place the notice in the paper as to the dogcatcher's
....telephone.
Four bids for an automobile were presented to the council by
the Village inspector. Bids are attaehec~.
544. Motion by Taft seconded by Mako to purchase the car from the
low bidder, Wilroy Co of Rosemount/ Taft, Mako, Friedges, Jensen'
and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. Low bid-$2,870.49

5ta.5. Motion by Taft seconded by Jensen to table the bench ordinance
for. 30 days. Mako, Friedges, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye",
motion carried.
The status of various memebers on Village comrrtl.ttees after the
the forthcoming .election wasdiscussed.
,5~6. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to renew the excavating permit
for Fischer Construction. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges
"aye", motion carried.
54.7. Motion by Taft seconded by Friedges to approve the on sale beer
license for the Lakeville Bowl Jensen, .Sullivan, Taft, Friedges
.and Mako "aye", motion e:arried.
54£3. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako to renew the gravel permit
for Bow Aggregates. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Mako. and Jensen "aye",
motion carried..
549. Motion by Taft secorxjed by .Sullivan to approve the service contract
for the two IBM typewriters. Taft, Friedges, Mako, Jensenarrl
Sullivan "aye",.motion carried..
550... Mohan by Mako seconded by Friedges to order 6 Village har~3books.
Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried.
N~rs. Hamster, who: lives out by Minnreg's, asked if something
could be done about snowmobiles tre-spassing on her property. She
mentioned the fact that she had planted many seedlings and snowmobilers
were running over them.
551. Motion by Mako seconded by Taft to`Met~ Realtors $l00 and Grannis &
Grann:i.s $200 for work done the Valley Park Tower. 'his will be paid
out of the '69 Bond Func9, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and Friedges
"aye", motion carried. / in connection with etc.
552. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to use the Village front end loader
for pushis~ig in the .dump and that no outside sna.chine be hired for this
without authoritiation of the Village Council. Jensen, Sullivan, Taft,
Friedges and Mako "aye", motion. carried.
553. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Friedges to adjourn carried unanimously.
