HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-16-70 ~ • f - VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING--FEBRUARY 16, 1970. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen. This was followed by the flag pledge. 'Roll call was taken with Friedges, Mako Jensen, Sullivan and Taft present... ar ~ 72. Motion by Fi~redges seconded by-Taft to accept the minutes of the Feb. 9, 1970, meeting as read. Friedges, Jensen, Mako, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried. 73. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to pay the Village Bills. Jensen, Mako Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. 74. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to pay the Liquor bills but to hold back check nr. 2688 until this could be checked out. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Jensen "aye", motion carried. 75. Motion by Taft seconded by Mako accepting the storm sewers and house services and releasing bonds for Valley Park 2nd Addition. The maintenance bond is filed in the office of the clerk. Resolution attached. Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Jensen and Mako "aye", motion carried. Pat Farrell was instructed to see that the two acres donated to the Village by Oscar Ramberg be surveyed. It was mentioned that Minnreg's would like to hold a especial election on Sunday liquor and they are willing to pay the cost of the same. The cost of an election and other factors will be checked out. The Planning Commission minutes.. of Feb. 12, 1970, were reviewed by Jerry Clay. 76. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to follow the recommendation of the Planning Commission and grant a permit to Gem Investment Co. $ Hithcock Inc. to construct and Maintain a commercial building subject to applicant having engineer sign plans or drawings and approval by Village attorney of waiver of notification of adjacent property owners. Taft, Friedges, Jensen, Mako and Sullivan "aye'', motion carried. 77. Motion b~•Friedges seconded by &lako to grant NSP a building permit to construct an electrical substation as per location on p1an,N. H. 46794 on file in the clerk's office, for the fee of $30 with a variance granted so that no additional fees or renewals be required each year. Friedges, Jensen, Mako,. Sullivan and Taft "aye" , motion carried.. Mr. Douglas, representing Instant Homes, presented the different factors why the Village should allow a mobile ~.ome park be built on the Bruder Farm at Cedar Ave. ~ highway 50. He requested that a reaoning be granted so it would be possible to construct this mobile home park. He felt that this park would be a benefit to tais community by bringing in more retail sales and he also felt that .this site was ideally located for this purpose. 78. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to-refer this matter to Midwest Planners and Engineers to goovex these plans at the expense of Instant Homes with a report forthcoming in 30 days. A letter will. be sent to the Village by Instant Homes indicating that they will day these .:.costs. Jensen, Mako,... Sullivan, Taft and Friedges "aye", motion carried. Ronald Van Bellinger and Roland Simones were sworn in as Planning Commission members for another term. 79. Motion. by Sullivan. seconded by Friedges to accept the specs for the new ~1) • v~ utility truck as presented by the Village engineer and to advertise for .bids. Sealed bids will be .taken at the Village Hall. until. 2:00 P.M. C.S. T., on Friday, March 13, 1970. Mako, Sullivan, Taft, Friedges and Jensen"aye"',. motion carried. A letter from M.G. Astleford Co. Was read to the council. This conderned some charges for moving a culvert. Mr. Jensen will check into this matter further. A resolution to Order the Preliminary Work Necessary to Establish a Municipal State Aid Street System for the Village of Lakeville, Minnesota was presented. 80. Motion by Taft seconded by Friedges to enter into this agreement, (copy of resolution is attached to these minutes.) Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Jensen and Mako "aye", motion carried. .March 3rd at 8 P.M.was set for a meeting with the auditor. Buss'Ackerman reported to the council that he is going to be gone on vacation for a week. 81. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to have Mr. Francis do Buss Ackerman's inspections at Valley Park and hire-Jerry Clay to do the inspections in the remainder of the Village for a fee of $6 for each inspecL~on. Taft, Friedges, Jensen, Mako and Sullivan "aye", motion carried. 82. Motion by Taft. seconded ~y Friedges to authorize J. Clay to widen the road (formerly Sullivan St.) which connects with Cty Rd 64 5 feet on either side with the county furnishing the culvert. Friedges, Jensen, Mako, Sullivan and Taft "aye", Motion carried. Further action on the Water F, Sewer minutes of Feb. 5, were tabled until A~farch 2. 83.
