VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING ---APRIL 13,.1970
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jensen with
Sullivan, Jensen, Mako, Friedges and Taft present. The. flag
pledge was given..
137. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to accept the minutes of the April 6,
1970 meeting as read. Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye",
motion carried.
.The building inspector gave his monthly. report. He reported that Airlake
would .like to have longer culverts.
138. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan that the length of the culvert be left
up to the discretion of the building inspector. Mako, .Jensen, Sullivan,
Taftand Friedges."aye"', motion carried.
The Planning Commission minutes of April 9, 1970, were read..
Tom Mohr, of-Rosemount Sanitation appeared before the council
regarding the bonding .requirements of the garbage ordinance. He felt this.
was unnecessary and unenforceable. It was decided to have the village
attorney check this out and report back in two weeks.
139. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Taft to let Mr. Mohr opexate on the $35
license fee for a period of days and that the $100 bond not be requixed.for this/
Jensen, Sullivan, Taft,,, Friedges and Mako "aye", motion carried. period.
Mr. Tillges appeared in regard to the sidewalk into the Park
Terrace Park.
..140.. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to accept Mr. Tillges offer of a 4 ft.
sidewalk into the Park Terrace Park. .Sullivan, Taft,. Friedges, Mako and
Jensen."aye",.motion carried.
141. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to grant Fischer Construction Co.
an excavating permit.. Taft, Friedges, Mako, Jensen and .Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
142. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako t-~u rezone to commercial-industrial..

143. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to approve the Valley Park 4th
Addn. final plat subject to the approval of the Village.-attorney and Village
engineer and payment of .Escrow amount. .Mako, Jensen, Sullivan, Taft and
Friedges "aye", motion carried.
Mr. Burger reported that all top soil will be replaced on park
land in Valley Park.
Floyd Bentson_appeared to request a building permit for one
of his lots in Glen Addition. It is understood that if this house is built:.
on Lot 2 Block 3, all of the property must be deeded ~~tb', the house.
Spencer Thomasen'askedthe council for a culvert but this request
could not be granted at this time `because 196th between Java and Jasmin had
not been accepted by the Village. Two members of the council and Ray Henry
will investigate this situation.
144. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to follow the recommendation of the
Planning Commission and grant Gary L. Farker a variance to construct a garage
closer than l0 .feet from property line. Jensen, Sullivan, Taft, Friedge and

Mako "aye", motion carried.
The clerk was instructed to make copies of the Mobile
Home Park Ordinance and send copies to each of the council. This matter
will be discussed at the next meeting.
It was decided to begin the April 20, 1970, meeting at 7 P.M.
to discuss the proposed coning map ..and ordinance. The public would be
notified of this change.
Mr. Lambert appeared for the Park and Recreation Committee...
145. Motion by Friedges seconded by Taft to accept the following people to replace
t~rar members on the committee
O.T. Nordseth to replace Ed Pelach
Vince Setton to'replace Geo. Rosel
Sullivan, Taft, Friedges, Mako and Jensen "aye", motion carried..
146. Motion by Sullivan seconded by Mako to hire Gene Reisinger as weed
inspector at $S00 per year. Taft, Friedges,-Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye",
motion carried.
147. Motion by Taft seconded by Friedges that the Liquor Store manager purchase
a cash register outright for $695.' Friedges, Mako, Jensen, Sullivan anc:
Taft "aye", motion carried.
148. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan that the flashing at the Liquor Store
be repaired at the figure given of $271.50. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan,
.Taft and Friedges "aye motion carried.
It was decided to have Jerry Clay send an agenda of the P~.anning
Commission meetings to the Fark and Recreation Committee as they are interested
in knowing the location of parks on new plats.
The clerk was instruct~ad to notify Lakeville Parking, Inc.
to have a representative at the next council meeting on April 20, 1970.
149. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan that the juvenile officer attend
the governor's dxug meeting on May 4. Jensen .and Taft "aye", Sullivan
Friedges and Mako opposed, motion failed.
150. Motion by Mako seconded by Friedges to send the juvenile officer and one other
officer to the drug meeting on May 4. Sullivan, Friedges, Mako and Jensen
"aye", Taft opposed, motion carried.
151. Motion by Taft seconded by Sullivan to accept the complaint filed against
the Village of Lakeville by Farmington as of the 8th of April, 1970.
Taft, Friedges, Mako, Jensen and Sullivan "aye", motion carried.
152. Motion by Taft seconded by Mako to sue Riley Lewis for nonpayment of rent.
Friedges,. Mako, Jensen, Sullivan and Taft "aye", motion carried.
Motion by Friedges seconded by Mako to adjourn unanimously approved. Meeting
adjourned.
