Tour -Rochester Athletic Facility

Gary Amoroso, Superintendent ISD #194; Holly Dahl, School Board Chair, ISD #194; Carole
Shaffer, Lakeville Senior Citizens; Robert Boldus, Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources
Committee; Carin Thomas, Lakeville Rotary; Rick Ringeisen, Lakeville Swim Club; Shawn
Mayfield, Lakeville Ministerial; Steve Michaud, Parks and Recreation Director, Staff Liaison;
Steve Mielke, City Administrator.
Also in attendance: Laurie Rieb, Council Member; Mark Bellows, Council Member;
David Luick, Council Member; Wendy Wulff, Council Member; Robert Erickson; Brian
Anderson, Assistant to City Administrator; Dennis Feller, Finance Director.
The Community Center Ad-hoc Committee along with the Lakeville City Council bussed
down to the Rochester Athletic Club where Jeff Brown, partner of the Rochester Athletic
Club, gave them a tour of the entire facility. While on the tour, Mr. Brown outlined the
operations of the Rochester Athletic Club and describes the amenities that King Athletic Club
would have to offer. Hervey R. Lavoie of OLC Architecture, architect of the Rochester
Athletic Club, presented to the group with a preliminary sketch of the King Athletic Club.
The group asked Mr. Brown and Mr. Lavoie a variety of questions relating to the athletic club
and it's financing. Lakeville City Attorney Roger Knutson briefly covered the concept site
lease agreement and stood for questions.
Adjourn
The group returned to Lakeville at io:oo p.m.
