HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-01 0 CITY OF LAKEVILLE PARK AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 1, 1979 7:30 P.M. Roll call: Present were Lovelace, Rice, Smith, Storlie, Novak. Trued called in and stated that he would be out of town. Cramer called in and stated he was unable to come to the meeting because he had to stay with someone ill at home. 79 -48 Motion was made by Storlie, seconded by Rice to approve the July 18, 1979 committee meeting minutes. Motion passed. The Lake Villa Golf Estates development plat was discussed. Park Director Steve Michaud presented a report with his recommendation for this particu- lar plat. The committee discussed the aspect of having easements for skiing and public areas around the ponding areas. It was ,stated that the cash contribution being recommended is above and beyond any ski easements or waterways or ponding easements. It was also mentioned there should always be an easement or link to the golf course for ski trails. 79-49 Motion was made by Storlie, seconded by Lovelace to recommend. to Council the Park Directors recommendation as submitted by report dated August 1, 1979. The recommendation states simply a cash contribution of $39,000.00. Motion passed. Steve then reviewed the 1979 suom►er revenue report as of the end of July. He stated that revenues were coming in fairly well and that we should reach our goals for 1979. Steve also discussed the summer programs and the state district tournaments being held at Aronson Park the next two weekends. Steve•also.informed the committee that the St. John's Church small building moving project has been cancelled as a result of the building not being able to fit, in the access road to Ritter Farm Park. He stated that he had recommended to Council to rebuild an old warming house which would work as a good collection building. Under new buisness Steve discussed the 1980 budget being prepared presently and requested that if any committee umbers have any additions or ideas that they should get in touch with our office within the next week. A completed budget or proposed budget will be distributed to the committee at the next meeting. 79 -50 Motion was made by Rice, seconded by Storlie to establish a time length on the Park and Recreation committee meetings. The Park and Recreation com- mittoe meetings shall go no later than 9:45 p.m. unless some move is made by the committee members present.
