Absent were Storlie and Lovelace. 79 -31 Motion was made by Trued, seconded by Cramer to approve the minutes of the May 2, 1979 committee meeting. Motion passed. Park Director Steve Michaud reported that Jackson Heights 2nd Addition park development would progress as time and man power would allow. Steve had talked with citizens of the neighborhood and informed them of the plans and time lines. Bassett Addition was discussed next. Steve presented a survey recently com- pleted. The survey showed a private fence located one foot onto park property. Also, a portion of a barn was on park property. Steve will be meeting with the building inspector to formulate a plan of action. The basketball /volleyball court is still planned for installation as time allows. Steve next discussed the Niakwa Village plat. He presented a memo prepared for Pat McGarvey justifying the committees recommendation for a cash contri- bution. During discussion Pastor Trued commented that Item #3 on the memo dated May 15, 1979 should be changed not to read that existing policy has shifted to cash only but to read that the policy of the committee is still land or cash depending upon the particular situation. An addendum will be sent to Council clarifying this. Steve reported on the recreation programs and stated all was going well. Regis- tration had started and this too was favorable. Steve explained that the programs were generally the same as in 1978 except new ideas and programs are being added. Steve also explained that Cheryl Kreofsky had submitted a letter received Tuesday, May 15, 1979, stating she would be interested in returning for the summer but was uncertain where she would be in the fall. Steve and the committee unaminously endorsed her returning for the summer and hope that she would be able to continue but would deal with that issue later. The committee began their final review of the Preliminary Park and Open Space Detailed Facilities Plan. Several small items were addressed but overall the committee was satisfied with the content and layout. Steve mentioned that the committee should be proud of this document in that it represented a lot of hard work by all. 79 -32 Motion was.made by Rice, seconded by Smith to recommend to City Council the adoption of the Preliminary Park and Open Space Detailed Facilities Plan to be included in the Cities Total Comprehensive Plan as amended. Motion passed. Under 'new business' Jeff Cramer commented that he had received damage to his boat while it was parked in the Antlers Park boat launch area. Apparently there are still posts sticking up from the bottom that are slightly submerged. Steve stated this would be removed as soon as possible. 79 -33 Motion by Trued, seconded by Rice to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Under 'Old Buisness' Carol Smith requested an update concerning the survey on Bassett Park. Steve explained that the fence on the south side was on park property but only by a few inches. There was a portion of the horse barn that did come on to park property. Steve will be meeting with the building inspector to determine any ordinance violation. Steve will also update the committee as to the status of the land directly behind the park. Horses are grazing in this area and they may be on park property. The committee requested an update on the status of all plats now existing, what stages they are in and potential plats now existing. 79 -30 Motion by Smithy seconded by Trued to adjourn. Motion passed
