HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-15 CITY OF LAKEVILLE 0 Park Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes November 15, 1978 Wednesday Municipal Bldg Airlake Present for roll call were Trued, who chaired the meeting, Rice, Lovelace, Cramer- Smith came a short time later. Absent this evening were Lange and Storlie. Park Director Steve Michaud was present, as were Councilman Bob Nelson and Planning member Norm Jensvold. C. Trued gave a report on the combined meeting of bike trail enthusiasts of Valley Park and Apple Valley. Lakeville is to do the "work up" on the plan. The trail is planned for the east side of Cedar Avenue, and an easement is requested. It is wished to continue further north with the trail, than Cedar Park School, on into Apple Valley. However, what is termed an "absolutely safe crossing" is desired at the school site. 78.82 Motion was made to approve the minutes of the meeting held November 1, 1978. Motion was made by Smith and seconded by Rice, with the following corrections: 1. In motion 78,78 "shall be put" shall be changed to "recommend to be put and 2. In motion 78.77 "it is recommended that the Council require payment to be made in full Motion carried. S. Michaud reported that the LAWCON grant has passed the Metro Council and Lakeville is ranked No. 1. Our request for help with ski and snowmobile trails was sent to Metro Council. Re pparking fees, etc. in Ritter Park, S. Michaud will write a memo to Administrator McGarvey. Park Director also said that the warming house in Dakota Heights Park has been built and that the boards for the hockey rink are being primed today. The comprehensive plan will be the subject of a meeting on November 29th at 1 PM at Council Chambers. Matter of chip pilings by Total Tree at their place of business along 35W was brought to the attention of the P R Committee. These minutes are to reflect that H. Rice and C. Trued attended the special meeting recently in Apple Valley regarding bicycle trails; also, C. Smith and C. Trued attended a special meeting this afternoon on the comprehensive plan. 78.83 Notion to adjourn the meeting was made by Rice and seconded by Lovelace. Motion carried.
