presently updating all parks' information.
C. Trued reported he had attended the joint bike trails meeting at Apple Valley.
LeRoy Nygaard and AV Park Director Mike Bassett, and Joanne Ellisonof District
196, were among those present.
It would seem to them at this meeting, that it would be difficult to get a bike
trail just to Cedar Park School rather it should proceed to CoRd 42. A safe
crossing is necessary. It was the thought that if a safe crossing were established,
there would be more children who would walk to school. Lakeville is now asked to
make a proposal to Apple Valley, as to location, estimated cost, and some kind of
financing plan. It was Mr. Bassett's suggestion that we "pool "the two communities
and apply for bike trail funds jointly. A year from now, next July, is when such
funds are awarded.
Cheryl Kreofsky reported that Council had passed a resolution approving the 1979
General Fund Budget on October 2nd. It may be that the LAA organization will
donate $2,000 in funds to help build the hockey rink that is proposed for Dakota
Heights Park.
LAWCON funding, $5,500 is the City of Lakeville share, will be used to develop Orc-
hard Lake Park.
C. Trued inquired about the possibility of the National Guard helping with bridge
erection at Valley Lake.
Comparative figures were asked in order to look further at the budget resolution.
78.72 Motion was made to recommend that park dedication of Wildwood Ponds South pro-
posed plat be $2,600. Motion was made by Trued and seconded by Storlie.
Voting aye were Storlie, Lovelace, Smith, Trued, Cramer, and Lange.
78.73 Motion was made to recommend that park dedication, if Bentson subdivision is
approved, be set at $200 per residential lot, which would amount to $600.
Motion was made by Smith and seconded by Trued.
