HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-20 0 CITY OF LA.KEVILLE Park and Recreation Committee Meeting September 20, 1978 7:30 PM Municipal Bldg Airlake Vice Chairman C. Trued called the meeting to order. Answering roll were Trued, Lovelace, Smith, Rice, and Cramer. Absent this evening, having notified the Park Director, were Storlie and Lange. Present at this meeting, also, were Park Director Michaud, Assistant C. Fitzgerald, and Councilman Bob Nelson. 78.69 Motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held August 16, 1978 was made by Rice Smith. Voting aye were Trued, Lovelace, Smith, Rice, and Craemer. The Park Director began his report. A letter was distributed which had been written covering the fall schedule. There were just a few minor changes being suggested in the proposed Comprehensive Plan mainly terminology. Letters written by C. Smith and L. Hammer regarding the misuse of Ritter Farm Park, particularly shooting, were distributed. S. Michaud suggested a committee be formed to see what could be done to eliminate this problem. Assist Cheryl gave a report on the completion of summer programs, also a 3-page summary of what is planned for next year was distributed. A revenue report was made by S. Michaud. He said additional fees will be necessary to make the budget work well. He asked that the members review the suggestions and cane next meeting for answers to any questions they may have. A suggestion was made by C. Trued that we look at a complete new pool for the Valley Park area, as it takes so much to keep up several small pools in operation. There was to be a meeting Sept. 26, 7 PM, for a combined meeting with Apple Valley, at their City Hall, on "Trails City's liabilities had been discussed at a meeting Steve and Cheryl had attended today at an Association conference. Signs are needed to protect the City from such liabilities. H. Rice will attend the Vinland Community reviewal meeting at Orchard Lake School on October 1 4th. 78.70 Motion to adjourn was made by Rice and Cramer. Unanimously agreed.
