HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-06 CITY OF LAKEVILLE PARK RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 6, 1978 7:30 P.M. Answering roll call: Lange, Storlie, Lovelace, Rice, Sdi.th, Trued. Also present: Michaud. Absent: Kramer. 78.6/ Motion by Rice, seconded by Lange to approve minutes of the August 2nd meeting. Park Director begun his report. An update on the Bike Trails meeting: The meeting between Apple Valley Park Recreation committee members and Lakeville committee members to discuss the feasibility of a trail from Valley Park to Cedar Grove elementary school has been rescheduled for September 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the Apple Valley new city hall. Aronson Park building dedication by the J.C.'s will be Saturday, September 9th, The building is nearly complete. All committee members have been invited to the dedication. An update of fall maintenance projects was given. Copies of the schedule will be sent to members. Steve presented a brief outline of a proposed fee schedule and new recommendation for additional revenue sources. The proposed report will be sent to members when completed. A recommendation for park planning; in conjunction with the Comprehensive Plan will be completed in the near future and mailed to members for comments, The preliminary plat for Mild Wood Ponds was discussed and a new cash recommendation by the park director was introduced. Steve recommended $8,000.00 as per our new ordinance, 40 single family homes $200.00 per home. 78.6!.� Motioned by Rice, seconded by Smith to recommend a cash contribution of $8,000.00 to satisfy park dedication requirements for Wild Wood Ponds. Steve introduces a second preliminary plat named 'Rolling Acres'. The park director recommended a cash contribution of $37,800.00 base on our present ordinance of $200.00 per single family dwellings. Rolling Acres will have 189 family lots. Motioned by Trued, seconded by Storlie to accept a cash dedication of $37,800.00 to satisfy the dedication requirements for Rolling Acres. 78.61p Roll call: Trued aye, Smith no, Rice aye, Lovelace aye, Storlie aye, Lange aye. Motion passed. Smith voted no stating that areas such as this containing close to 200 families should have some type of neighborhood park. Steve informed committee members that Independance park was now city property. Carol Smith informed the committee that she has received several calls concerning people hunting and target shooting on or around the Northern section of Ritter Farm park. The issue was discussed and it was the committee's consensus that before this problem gets any worse and with the upcoming hunting seasons that a letter be written to the chief of police asking for suggestions. 78JI Motion by Smith, seconded by Rice that a letter be written to the chief of police requesting whatever help or suggestions to help eliminate; this dangerous situation. All voted aye. Motion passed. Rice discussed the Vinland committee minutes. He outlined the plan. to be used for informing the citizens. 78.6# Motion to adjourn by Storlie. Seconded by Rice.
