Park Recreation Committee Meeting
Minutes
Wednesday June 7, 1978
Municipal Building Airlake Park
The meeting began when Chairman J. Lange called for order. Answering roll
call were Lange, Trued, Storlie, Smith, Hiemstra absent were Lovelace and
Rice.
Also in attendance at this meeting were Park Director S. Michaud and
Councilman Bob Nelson.
The minutes of the meeting held May 17, 1978 are to be amended by Motion
N o. 78.52.
78.52 Rice and Storlie motioned to adjourn the meeting on May 17, 1978. Time:
10:30 PM. Motion carried.
78.53 Lange -Trued motioned to approve the minutes of the meeting held May 17, 1978,
containing Motion No. 78.52.
Voting "aye" were Trued, Storlie, Smith, Hiemstra, and Lange.
The Park Director began his report. The sewer system and well will be done
in the Aronson Building. The Antlers Park building has been finished and
functioning for two weeks. The concession will be run by the Parks Dept.
at Antlers Park this year. The former lessee does not wish to operate any
longer. The pools both have leaks, but will be tested tomorrow. Copies
of the new park dedication ordinance will be mailed to Park Rec members.
Action on Dakota Heights and Jackson Heights 2nd Addition sale of park lands
has been tabled at Council level and returned to the attorney for an opinion.
A. Mr. Bob Peterson, developer of Sanasha Knolls, was introduced to the Committee
by S. Michaud. He wishes to build four 4- plexes and a 7 -unit building on
Lot B, Dakota Heights 7th Addition.
B The Highview Estates plat was discussed. This had been a
ago under the name of Woodbury 2nd Addition. approved some time
S. Michaud spoke of a Prior Lake Burnsville church group wishing to come to
Ritter Farm Park thi summer.
The Bike Trail Sub Committee has met and gone over objectives and plans.
The next meeting will be June 13, 1978.
S. Michaud gave a report on the annual parks tour which had been held May 30th.
C There was a discussion with Mr. R. M. Feerick and his planner of ideas for
developing land located west of Interstate 35W and north of Minnreg Road,
which may be called Minnreg Acres. They have made a site analysis, tree cover,
and noise impact studies- -with 15 large colored lay -outs of the area.
Two copies of above lay -outs, which seemed most interesting to P R Committee
will be sent to Park Director Michaud.
78.54 Trued -Lange motioned to accept Nancy Hiemstr's resignation from this Committee
with regret, but with thanks for having been part of the P R Committee as long
as she has. All members voted "aye"

S. Michaud explained a letter he had received from Nancy Molly, DOT person,
saying that she had sent applications for State Aid in construction of bike
trails in Lakeville.
The Committee wishes to extend thanks to Representative Bob Jensen for his
assistance in examining aid for bike trails in Lakeville.
Situation on bike trails will be explained next meeting.
Planning maps of future development areas were distributed to the P R
members by Park Director Michaud.
78.5 Hiemstra -Smith motioned to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
