Park Director's Report Cedar highlands 53,nOn was put in the park development Fund from the first two additions. $3,000 left in 1177 budget soma money to he spent on trees in Antlers park and Aronson. 77.71 Motion by N. Enright to recommend to City Council that we use the remainder of the money in the 1977 budget for the purchase of trees. Seconded by L. Nelson; motion passel. A delay in the starting of the ice rinks due to warm weather. Diets will be re- opened next week on Antlers park building. flui.ldinp, scheduled to be done by Atenorial Day. Attorney is neg;otintin For the purchase of land near Antlers Park. Dodd park preliminary plat was discussed. Cary Comstock presented the plans. The total acreage of the development is 60.07 acres. 'rhe park dedication would require a portion of land over 6.2 acres. Placement of tlti prirk w,,v, discussed; some of which would be in the 10 year flood plain. Torn Thompson, the developer, cleared up srnmr. issues with renard to questions about flooding effects, the projected plans, and timetable (2 years to complete the development.) Park land is separated from the development by a drainage ditch. A 20 foot easemen as a public entrance was suggested. The Park and Recreation committee accepted the plat for study and review. On the December 21 meeting, the committee will present their stand on this dedication. C. Trued arrived at 9:30. Barry S. Johnson and Mr. Jacobson presented a development proposal for a two -part development west of 15W to include 230 acres by county roads 7r) and 64. Forty lots would be developed, each area to be a five acre lot. Because of the low density and trail system to be included in this development, discussion centered on cash in lieu of land for park dedication. The committer_ accepted the plat for study and review; will respond at the next meeting,. Caul ltenstrom, treasurer of the Lakeville Ski Club, presented a general budget, specified needs for maintenance, equipment, and capital outlay for Nordic Ski Patrol. Proposals to collect fees were mentioned, becatisn at present, the operation is running in the red. The roadside parking problem was nl -so discussed. Nancy Hiemstra and Steve Storlie volunteered to be on the ski trail subcomittee. The club and subcommittee will present the outline In January. The Park Director suggested to chairperson that the bike trail subcommittee be reenacted. N. Enright to contact Bob Artson to act-nate the bike committee. Steve Storlie volunteered to he on the bike committee. C. Trued brought up a petition that rvquonti a bike trail along Cedar. This petition is circulating in Valley Park. Wednesday, December 21, committee will meet at Unn p.m. Committee evaluation cornittee feels comiunity is satisfied with Lhe Lakeville park system.
