WEDNESDAY 8:00 PM 19 OCTOBER 1977
MUNICIPAL BUILDING AIRLAKE INDUSTRIAL PARK
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson N. Enright at 9:20 pm.
(Delay due to candidates rally at the high school) Present were Trued,
Enright, Lange, and Storlie.
77.68 Motion by Trued to approve the minutes of the October 5, 1977 meeting.
Motion carried, minutes approved.
Terri Farrell gave the Park Recreation Director's report. Fall programs
are going well; with the possibility of no womens broomball, however. Touch
football, open gym, trip plans, etc. are going fine.
Quotes from contractors for Antlers park project are about $20- 30,000 over
expected quotes.
City Hall rink project is underway.
Slides and preparation for presentation of the neighborhood meetings are
being completed and reviewed on Friday. This will include maps of development,
possibly the budget, an organizational chart, and general information
dissemination. A major reason for these meetings is feedback.
The Committee then discussed different ways of advertising; decided on posters,
church bulletins, and cable t.v.
A change was made to have a Park Recreation advisory member chair the
neighborhood meetings, giving a brief introduction, explaining their committee,
it goals and function, then introducing the Park Director. There were no other
changes in the basic format of the neighborhood meetings.
Steve Storlie, speaking for the ski club, presented a proposal for Ritter
Park. A parking fee (designated as an area use fee) will be split 50 -50 if the
Park Department has a ticket taker. The fee will split 75 -25 if the ski club
provides a ticket taker. The fee:
$1 /person (adult) $10 /person, season (adult)
$.5`? /person (under 18) $5 /person, season (under 18)
Changes could be made after negotiations with Honeywell. To be discussed at the
next meeting.
77.69 Motion to adjourn was made, seconded, and passed at 10:20 pm.
