HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-20 LAKEVILLE PARK RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAY 20 JULY 1977 MUNICIPAL BUILDING AIRLAKE INDUSTRIAL PARK Meeting with Ackberg Ackberg representatives to discuss plans for a new building at Antlers Park was begun at 7:45 PM, with members Enright, Lange, Lovelace and Christoffers answering roll. The proposed building will be of concrete and decorative block on the outside. Three different plans were presented. A recess was called at 8:10 for the public meeting. John Casey spoke about the beginnings of Murphy Hanrehan Park District. John Christian, secretary of Scott- Hennepin Board, discussed the concepts of the preserve --80% is to be left as it is, and 20% will be devoted to active participation. There were 17 people in the audience for this meeting. Meeting was reconvened at 9:45 PM. 77.43 Motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held July 6th was made by Lange and Christoffers. Motion carried. The Park Director gave his report., `here are 100 signatures on a petition for Dakota H Park. Dakota Heights is a high priority. 77.44 M by Christoffers and Lovelace to recommend to City Council the conceptual approval of the plan for Dakota Heights Park. Motion carried. It will be necessary to set boundary lines and elevations for grading. A survey and cost estimates will also be needed. Rough landscaping and grading will be contracted, O t City personnel will finish grading and seeding. A skating area could be ready for winter a a ballfield for next summer. 77.45 We move to accept the outlined plan of action for Dakota H Park (above). We will examine the cost figures at next meeting and present our recommendation for funding at Council's second meeting in August. Christoffers seconded. Motion carried. S. Michaud presented an update on receipts. $9,004.00 is the new total. There were several changes in parks suggested. At Jaycee Park, we ask a change in fields and add a third field; also add a chain link fence next year. At Aronson Park, the problem with parking continues to worsen. It will be a fall project to add more parking. Lakeville has received the $22,500 from the State on LAWCON gran. Chairperson appointed Cliff Trued as liason to Youth Advisory Board. 77.46 Motion to adjourn by Christoffers and Lange. Motion carried.
