Nelson, Enright, Lange, Lovelace, Trued 0 hristoffers and Lamont were absent. 76.71 Minutes of the meeting held Sept 15 had been read and were now approved upon motion of Enright and Trued. Motion carried. A quick reviewal of the Council meeting minutes of Sept 7and 13 and 20, was made. no Council directive to P R Committee was noted. Park Director commenced his report. It dealt with: (1) skating facilities at Orchard Lake School site, (2) progress of LAWCON funding, (3) skating rink on All Saints Catholic School property, (4) review of status of budget, (5) donation of land from Luverne and Vivian Loken at Crystal Lake to be considered, and (6) presentation of initial ideas for park dedication ordinance. (All of these are explained in further detail in these minutes.) Mr. Charles Hobbs and Mr. Don Tatge were present and asking about skating facilities that have been planned for the coming season.Mir. Hobbs asked about satellite facilities at the proposed Orchard Lake School site. S. Michaud said they would be placed if use of the rink warranted it. Question Gas asked if there would be any hockey playing at Orchard Lake rink? Answer was that this area was for pleasure skating- -there would be absolutely no hockey. Mr. Tatge asked if a grader could push out a larger area for skating at Lion's Park, Park Director Michaud said he would look into the matter, if it could be done. Motion No. 76.69, included in September 15th minutes, has not been disussed by City Council, nor been placed on their agenda, at this time. It regards the placing of a bike trail in Valley Park, towards Apple Valley area, and a feasibility study by the engineer. JW this matter could be placed on the Council agenda for the meeting of the 18th, Rev. Trued olunteered to come and speak on its behalf. Regarding Park Director's report: (1) Orchard Lake School site facilities for skating the warming house is ready to move there from Orchard Lake Beach. The staffing of an attendant, if it is possible, will be done in conjunction with staffing at another facility, depending on the usage of the rinks. (2) LAWCON funding is progressing through Metro committees, and will proceed to Metro Council, then the Governor. Our application is still No. 2 on the list. (3) Father Rowan has agreed that the All Saints site can be a pleasure skatng facility for the community. S. Michaud proposes to do some grading here in preparation for ice. (4) Chairman Nelson volunteered to be present when parks division of budget is up for review -as would other Committee members. More comparative figures are desired. (5) Lot 7, Block 1, Oak Shores 2nd Addition is the piece of property that the Loken's wish to give the City. The Park and Rec Committee decided that they would like to meet and look at it together, before the next meeting. This will take place at 6:30 PM, at Len Nelson's home, October 20th. (6) After looking at the park dedication proposals, each member is supposed to study his/her copy. This will be an agenda item for next meeting, October 20th. Mrs. Pieri, who lives at Orchard Lake on Kenwood Trail, Lakeville Hills, was present to new her request for aid in obtai skating facilities in Lakeville Hills. All she is asking for at this time is water, when it is available, to flood the low -lying area. C. Trued requested that she look into question of her personal liabilities concerning this. 76.72 Motion to adjourn the meeting, Enright and Trued, came at 10:00 PM. Motion carried.
