?eeting was called to order at 7:00 Pi by Vice Chairperson I1. Enright, in the
absence of Len nelson. 1 %nswering roll were: Trued, Lange, Enright, Lovelace-
Christoffers arrived at 7:20 Pi Belson and Lamont were absent. Park Director Steve
I•:ichaud also attended the mppting.
76.59 Trued -Lange motioned to a-:prove the minutes of the august 18th meeting.

The Laster Plan for :antlers Park was shown and demonstrated by S. :Michaud.
Alternate Plan 1 11o. 1 is similar to present antlers Park; it provides for lqO car
and 22 trailer parking, east of Indra Way. Trued wished to know, "why not show
buildings Steve's answer was "possibly this *creek Christoffers: "tennis courts

S. 1 outlined steps now to take: (1) take plans to Council for tther
approval, (2) obtain a hardshell map concept which can be taken further (1etro
Council) for approval. Two other things to be considered: (1) potential parking
lot of 3+ acre -area, considering purchase, and (2) show potential buildings.
76.60 Trued- Christoffers motioned to recommend to Council to approve conceptual
plans of Antlers Park, Alternate 11o. 1, as the Co=, ittee endorses this one.
Voting "aye -Lange, Enright, Lovelace, Christoffers, and Trued. Potion
carried.
Approval of two areas for two separate archery ranges was sought by Park Direc-
tor S. Michaud. One area is the STJ corner of Bunker Fill Park, shooting toward the
hill and the water tower; also the SE corner of Aronson Park, shooting near the
present cornfield. Cost of this program would only be some bales of hay and misc.
lumber. Targets are to be furnished by the archers, themselves, at this time.
76.61 Lange -T:- ed motioned to approve the two archery ranges asked, one at Bunker
Hill and one at Aronson Park. Voting "aye Enright, Lovelace, Christoffers,
Trued, and Lange. Motion carried.
Park Director was also asking approval of two applications for grant -in -aids
program -cross country ski grant of and snowmobile grant of 4711,960, city
share of 1st is 35, and also the 2nd.
76.62 Christoffers -Trued motioned to recommend approval of two applications for
grant aids for ski and snowmobile trails, as outlined by S. 'Michaud. Voting
"aye Lovelace, Christoffers, Trued, Lange, and Enright. Lotion carried.
Park Director reported that income from City swimming pools and beach was $13,000
for period up to Labor Day, and that Labor Day would be the last day of authorized
swimming.
P ec R representative to Council Meeting September 7th will be 1 Enright. (Steve
will be on vacation.)
Greg Johnson, President of Lakeville Hockey Boosters Club, presented a letter
which explained his, and other Club members, presence at this meeting. (Hockey
Boosters is an 'arm' of LQ1.) ri moajor problem with the Boosters is storage of equip-
ment. Storage under the watertower is unsatisfactory and inadequate. 1r. Johnson
now has the equipment stored at his home, but he would like to be able to use this
space. Possibility of renting a building for storage is to be explored double -car
garage size, is what is needed. D. Christoffers is to explore the school -area, in
this regard, and it will be an agenda item for next meeting, Sept. 15th. Access
to such an area at a convenient time was matter of concern to Boosters, also.
Pleasure skating site was another concern of Boosters. Church site at All
Saints, or JayCee Park, were two suggestions. ','ally Potter suggested enlarging new
warming house.
Skating facility at Orchard Lake was another concern of the Boosters. "If
we can't get hockey here, get pleasure skating area, here, too was suggestion of
Boosters.
76.63 Nelson -Lange motioned "recommend Council authorize the Park Director to pursue
a cooperative shared effort with Orchard Lake School District to establish
recreational skating at Orchard Lake school site for 1976 -77 skating season.
Facilities should include heated warping house andtequate fighting Voting

Crystal Lake skating was discussed. Greg Johnson suggested "P E- R extablish
skating for others" here.
s final review and adoption of proposed 1977 budget was next item on agenda.
It is recommended to add ;10,000 to 1977 budget for boards and lighting at Orchard
Lake School, contingent upon evaluation of skating facilities used in 1976 season.
76.64 Trued -Lange motioned to recommend to Council the proposed 1977 budget
prepared by the Park Director. Voting "aye Trued, Lange, Enright, Lovelace,
and Christoffers. Motion carried.
Rev. Trued volunteered to so some of the base work on park dedication ordinance
between now and October meeting, with S. Piichaud.
B. Alich gave a report on what Park Dept hopes to do to maintain good ice and
pleasure skating programs:
Community Education Advisory Co8ncil met today. Natural Resource Committee
will be an agenda item Sept 7th. It was reported that Jerry Erickson is objecting
to formation of this Committee because of other governing offices in this same
category.
76.65 Trued- Christoffers motioned "we, as a Committee, go on record as favoring a
Natural Resources Committee, and we recommend to Council approval of their
proposal. Voting "aye Lange, Enright, Lovelace, Christoffers, and Trued.

A bike trails report was given by Trued, for Valley Park area. As far as trail
from Valley Park to Apple Valley, no help at this time from Dakota Co., according to
Engineer Bob Sandeen, however, according to the same source, right of way is available
on Cedar Avenue, 167th Court and Cedar Highlands, with the exception of 3 lots
Aquarius Pools, Lutheran Church, and one other.
J. Lange said bike trail committee is working on trail to Aronson Park presently,
they are going to get easements.
76.66 Christoffers -Trued motioned to adjourn at 10:15 PI Motion carried.
