P R COMMITTEE MEETING WED. I AUGUST Z71 1975 rAGT
S. Michaud reported that the sod removed when the ballfields were -skinned has
been used at various places in Lakeville to make swales--cuts down drainage and erosion.
J. Lamont mentioned the amount of traffic had not ceased at the boat access at
Antlers Park--that it shouldn't be, and what can be done to correct it.
Budget changes to be made this year, according to S. Michaud, was office supply
figure from $600 to $500; from $2,UUO to $14,00 for recreational aide' salaries; and
recreation supplies from $500 to $WO.
D. Christoffers gave a report on tennis courts. In programming the courts for
next year, various people have suggested to her these things to be considered: adult
players only, after 6 FM, at least some nights could 'be "adult priority" nites, perhaps
court rotation could be made "on the hour". S. Michaud suggested that the Tennis Club
be asked to come in with all their recommendations, and make a deadline date for proposals
from everyone concerned.
Christoffers reported further that the four tennis courts at the school are to be
torn up, possibly, and replaced with four or more improved tennis courts. An architect
will come and work out the beat locations. An estimated $55,000-$60,000 is expense fig-
ure for six courts. The school cannot make this a bid-letting until July because that
is the beginning of their fiscal year.
3 Christoffers, "move to recommend that the Council meet with members from the School
Board to discuss the joint construction of six tennis courts at the Middle School
site". L. Nelson seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
