Copies of the agenda for the evening had been distributed previously, by L. Nelson. Answering roll call were: Nelson, Lamont, Lovelace, Enright, and Lange. Minutes of meeting held January 29th had been received by all committee members. Enright- Lamont moved end seconded approval of these minutes. Motion carried. Reviewal of Council meetings held February 3rd and February 10th, (minutes had been received by members,) was given by Nelson and Lamont, respectively. ,x#72 At Council meeting of February 10th, items and wordings of Park Rec.'s "Goals, Responsibilities, Procedures" had been changed as follows: Section II #2.8 should be "To review all proposals for parks and and recreation as authorized by City Council." Section IV #4.1 The wording should remain the same, but strike the second sentence. 440 Wording of lst sentence should be "majority" inserted in place of "4/5's later in paragraph, "Such vacancy shall be filled by the Council. strike rest of wording. Motion made by Lamont to "move Committee recommend for final approval "Goals, Responsibilities, Procedures as amended by Council at their meeting of 2/10/75, Item no. 75 .133 to replace Sections 6 and 7." (Member Ms. Dee Christoffers came at 8:30 P.M.) Above motion died for lack of a second. (1) L�MVILLE PARK RECREATION MEETING 2/12/75 PAGE 2 Nelson made motion "recommend that our proposed Park Rea. Committee's "Goals, Responsibilities Procedures", along with suggested changes or amendments by the Council be referred to the City Attorney for an evaluation and drafting of a resolution establishing what the duties and responsibilities are of a Park Recre- ation Committee." Enright seconded. Motion carried. Park Director Steve Michaud was present and gave a synopsis of his work: Snofest was a success; another ski contest will be held March 2nd; fishing bridge solution is materializing, a meeting with State officials either the first or second week in March; possibility of secretary for Michaud and Martin; possibility of LAA being host for hockey tournament next season. #73 Mr. Ed Henderson, teacher at Parkview School, Valley Park, was introduced by S. Michaud. Mr. Henderson is interested in having property to north of the school made into an ecology park. Motion by Lamont "Committee support further study and cooperate with Mr. Ed Henderson for the purpose of establishing a nature area at pond area near the Parkview School, Valley Park, also Steve Michaud determine the present status of the property surrounding the pond." Enright seconded. "endorse further study and cooperation" is to be inserted. Motion carried unanimously. There has been a request for pleasure skating pond in "Old Village"-- all rinks seem to be being used for hockey play. This was discussed and agreed upon, All Saints lot, particularly, being considered. Lovelace will investigate 11 19.1 11 Apple Valley treatment area being evac_ua,ted,. D. Lange volunteered to attend meeting called by County Planner on February 18th, at 10 A.M. --possiblily that'N. Enright may attend, also. Motion to adjourn at 10 P.M. by Lamont, seconded by Enright.
