Members present and answering roll were Enright, LeRoy, Ballinger, Erickson, and Lovelace Nelson and Lamont were absent. corrections of minutes of June 12th were: change "Ken" to "Len -Mr. Nelson's name, and differentiate Items 18, 20, 21, 22 in the summary to specify which parks were meant. #18 and 20 were equipment for Antlers Park, *l equipment for Orchard Lake Park, and #22 for 167th St Park. Also corrections in Items 23 and 24--"LeRoy 2nd" be deleted as there had already been a 2nd, and change word "reoommendations" to read "nominations". LeRoy and Ballinger moved and seconded that the minutes be approved, with the above- mentioned corrections. Motion carried. M. Erickson gave a report concerning bike trails and the Councills opinion. The Council felt that the time was too short,at present, to meet the requirements for obtaining grants. It was suggested that Engineer Frigaard would help. If possible, Erickson will have written tentative plans for bike trails for 5 -year plan at next meeting, July 10th. In order to have meetings that end earlier, it was suggested that meeting time be caged to 7:30 P M, instead of 8 P M. This change was agreeable to everyone. Also, Public Works Director, J. Robinette, is to be asked if he would present a written report of what has been accomplished since the last meeting, and the condition of the .parks- -and this report would be taken care of the first item of business for the evening. Concerning 5-year capital improvement budget for items and purchases over. $10,000, it was asked that each member have ideas written on the forms provided, by July 10th meeting--even tentative ideas--to get the program started. 27. Motion by LeRoy, "inquiries be made from several outside consulting firms for preparing 3-year capital expenditure plans for Lakeville park system." Second by Ballinger. Motion carried unanimously. LeRoy will make inquiries and report at meeting July 10th. meeting. Business of park rules for Antlers and Aronsca Parks postponed until next It was reported that matter of south entrance for Aronson Park has not as yet come before the Council. copies of letter dated May 20, 1974, concerning State Natural Resource Grants, are to be made and sent -to members with these minutes. Steve Johnson is to be asked to come to July 24th meeting -in order to co- ordinate work with Park Study Group, L. Nelson and R. LeRoy will draft a letter in response to Clifton Aichinger's correspondence with Park and Rec Committee members. Antlers Park Director Steve Michaud gave his report. There is a great need for outdoor grills, as is being reported to Council. Also he believes elieves bulletin boards would help greatly so that people would know what sports equipment is kept at the park and is available to them. LeRoy and Enright, possibly Lamont, will attend July let Council meeting. Guidelines for Bi- Centennial were given to members. These are to be studied and discussed at July 10th meeting.
