HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-11 PARK RECREATION COMMITTEE APRIL 11, 1973 Members present: Austad, Makos, Robinette, Erickson, Lovelace, Nelson. Absent: Hrkal. 1. Grohoski Proposed Development: Motion by Austad, seconded by Nelson to consider a monetary donation in lieu of land due to unsuitability for park land based on $3000.00 per acre. Motion carried. 2. Land Evaluation: Motion by Makos, seconded by Robinette to recommend to the council $3000.00 per acre assessed valuation for monies received in lieu of park land. This dollar amount will be renewed annually at j`�~ mum. Motion carried. 3. Lakeville Softball Assn. -Mr. Ed Korba. Permission to hold Softball Tournament at Aronson Park in accordance with Village School Coordinator, provided entire park is left in clean order. Discussion held with no objection. Dates will be discussed with Mr. Pete Martin. Discussion also of outfield fence. We accept Softball Assn. offer to install fence with supervision and request Bud Alich to check price for possible two outfield fences. Definite recommendation will be made by April 25th meeting. 4. Mr. Len Nelson representing L.A.A. for developing needs for summer schedul attached letter- request action taken in proposed parks by May 1st. Oak Shores Install back -stop and benches, snowfence needed for outfield, Aronson Park two back -stops and benches. Motion by Nelson, seconded by Lovelace to spend funds not to exceed $1500.00 for three backstops and appropriate benches. Motion carried. 5. Recommendation for disposition of 22- acre park in Ross Bassett Addition. Motion by Austad, seconded by Makos to request property be sold at this time as this land is not usable for park land. Request that money be used for park land and or equipment purchase. Motion carried. 6. Discussion of Park Recreation Committee preliminary budget will be reviewed June 13, 1973. 7. Motion by Lovelace, sedonded by to have Council enforce ordinance for motorized vehicles in Aronson Park motorcylces, minibikes etc. Motion carried. 8. Lakeville Hill Jackson Heights: Mr. Ed Asbury presented park plans for consideration. Plans are accepted for study. Larry Austad will contact J. Hrkal in regard to this study and possible seeding for this year. Answer will be available within 30 days. 9. Walt Makos and Jim Robinette will attend April 16, 1973 council meeting.
