July 24, 1972 Minutes
Members presents Hrkal, Lambert, Lovelace and Bresnahan
Minutes of previous meeting read and approved,
1. Motion was made to request of the Council their decision regarding
parcel of land in suburban acres.
2. Motion was made that $1500.00 be accepted in lieu of park land in
Louis Szabo 1st Addition.
3, Motion was made and seconded by *kal to recommend to the council
the adoption of the Park Ordinance as drafted by the Park and
Recreation Committee, Chief "Radamacher was present and felt that
these Ordinances are enforceable.
Copy of Ordinance attached.
4. Motion by Bresnahan seconded by Lambert to purchase legal bouys for
Orchard Lake Beach and an area be set aside for swimming at Orchard
Lake Park and bouyed properly. That signs be posted in both areas
that 'No Life Guard on Duty. Swimming at own risk". The Park and
Recreation Committee will review state water safety regulations and
see that our beaches are properly marked, The Water Safety Patrol
has urged that we mark beaches as soon as possible,
5. Report by Len Nelson regarding Lakeville A. A. regarding Baseball 1972
and urged that our committee consider more diamonds for baseball.
He is going to come before the committee with amore complete analysis,
6. Motion by Lambert seconded by Bresnahan to apply to county for access
to new park area just off Dodd Road and Foliage Avenue. Bud Al.ich
has seeded this area and feels that access is absolute since there
is no interval access.
7. Motion by Lambert seconded by Hrkal to request the council to purchase
a pickup truck and a small lowboy to transport park maintenance
equipment. This truck would be invaluable in making the tractor
and its components less subject to wear and tear going from one locale
to another.
