PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
OCTOBER 13, 1971
The neeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. Members present; Austad, Lampert,
Emond, Bresnahan, Erickson and Johnson.
Richard Johnson- -Park land donation Johnson made the motion seconded by Bresnahan to
recommend a $300.00 donation in lieu of land based on 4% of $2,500.00 an acre
estimated market value of undeveloped lots. Passes.
Sheldon Blue- -Lad Holding Co. -Park land donation. Bresnahan made the motion
seconded by Johnson to recommend a $3,000.00 donation in lieu of land based on our
understanding of 5% of market value per acre of undeveloped land for multiple
dwelling zoning.
70 Acre Park Plan -D. H. Gustafson Manners submitted 20 acre layout for ball diamonds,
parking and trees.
Park Rules and regulations Committee appointed Lambert and Bresnahan to meet as
separate Committee and present recommendations.
Emond recommends to council to post on site Stay Off" warnings�;.for snowmobilers
and sliding areas at the newly seeded 70 acre and Valley Park area.
Hockey goals Bresnahan made the motion seconded by Lambert to recommend $200 for
hockey goals for the two Village hockey rinks -with the Village furnishing netting from
cyclone fence.
Crystal Lake Park- -Emond will contact Midwest Planners in regard to this.
Skating rinks and warming houses lights- VAA presented rink administration
and maintenance, methods and scheduling for P.& R. consideration in overall Park rink
maintenance.
Park Recreation recommendations for Lakevile Rinks are:
Pleasure rinks.
Buffer Zone
1. 2 separate rinks 100 x50 each separated by warming house.
2. warming house repaired (roof fixed, screen and glass in windows- screen
on both sides of glass) painted.
3. Outside lighting -one for each rink.
Catholic School
1. 2 separate rinks -as large as possible
2. warming house furnished.
3. outside lighting.
Marrinan Park
1. 50 x 100 pleasure rink only
2 no warming house if lighting is sufficient.

Orchard Lake.

3. warming house will be furnished.
Valley Park
1. pleasure rink adjoining Hickey rink separated by warming house
2. one additional light at west end.
Hockey Rinks attached recommended maintenance under III B
Valley Park:
1. warming house approximately 16'x 32'-
Village supply maintenance- volunteer well construct.
2. pair of goals
3. heaters -gas blower 50,000 BTU
4. Satellite
Village Hall:
1. Double warming house
2. Heaters
3. pat of goals
4. satellite if needed
A scheduled maintenance for pleasure hocky rinks are recommended.
Park renaming.
Austad Erickson study plan for renaming.
