JULY 28, 1971
The meeting was called to order by James Emond at 8:15 p.m.
Members Present: Lambert, Emond, Erickson, Bresnahan, Jones. Absent:
Austad, Johnson.
Secretary's report was read and approved. A letter of a $200.00 donation
from Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik Assoc. was read and accepted.
Orchard Lake Park:
A complaint was made in regard to noisy late hour parties. A motion made
by Herb Lambert, seconded by Pat Bresnahan to recommend to the Village
Council to have police patrol the Orchard Lake Park area in unmarked cars
and to make necessary arrests for disturbing the peace after curfew hours.
Motion carried.
Orchard Lake Beach:
Discussion was held regarding salaries at Orchard Lake Beach. A motion
made by James Emond, seconded by Pat Bresnahan to recommend to the Village
Council that the salaries be made retroactive to opening of beach. $1.75
for senior life guards, $1.50 for junior life guards, and $3.00 for Gene
Prescher, Supervisor. Motion carried.
Hockey Program:
Ray Anderson presented repairs and maintenance recommendations and asked
for the possibility of enlarging hockey rink to regulation size. A motion
made by Pat Bresnahan, seconded by Herb Lambert to recommend to the Village
Council that the heater which was approved last year be purchased now to be
installed in hockey warming house at start of hockey program, and that
insullation and sheeting be purchased for present warming house to be
installed by volunteers. Motion carried.
A motion made by Martha Erickson, seconded by Pat Bresnahan to recommend
to the Village Council to look into the feasibility of enlarging hockey
rink to regulation size. Motion carried.
A motion made by James Emond, seconded by Herb Lambert to recommend to the
Village Council that the eight points (see attached list) under repair and
maintenance be considered as necessary to the hockey program. Motion
carried.
70 Acre Park:
A motion made by Herb Lambert, seconded by James Emond to request a special
meeting with the Village Council on August 10, 1971 to discuss park plans
for the 70 acre tract. Motion carried.
Park Maintenance And Equipment:
A motion made by Pat Bresnahan, seconded by Herb Lambert to recommend to the
Village Council to purchase equipment for maintenance of parks and rinks.
Motion carried.
