HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-16 1 LAKEVILLE PARK RECREATION Lakeville, Minnesota A special meeting was held December 16th, 1970 and called to order 7 :45 P.M. by chairman Lambert. Present: Freidges, Emond, Jones, Nelson, Setten, Taft, and 1. The Park Recreation recomends that the village council authorize the purchase of two electric space heaters. One to be placed in the warming house in back of the Village hall. The other to be placed in the warming house at Valley Park. 2. It is the recomendation for the council to accept the lowest bid for lights at the Valley Park Hockey Rink as of January 2, 1971. Central Telephone is donating 25ft poles to be used in this project. The original quotes received and given to the council on October 28, 1970 included 45ft poles and were as follows: Valley Electric X1,900.00 Corrigan Electric 2,300.00 Since p oles were donated by Central Telephone Co. The following quotes were were received. Valley Electric $1,145.00 Lakeville Electric 1,200.00 3. Mr. Anderson, Lakeville Hockey Coach asked the commission if they had any names of people that could be contacted to complete the supervision schedule for Lakeville. He was given several names and some o f the members of P R Commission volunteered their services. 4. A discussion concerning snowmobiles followed and the commission decided to leave this matter in the councils hands to follow up on thher discussion of December 14th council meeting. At the 10/28/70 P R meeting we felt that other possibilities concerning the lights at Valley Park be explored. Mr. Hanson of the Rosemount School District was contacted concerning the possibility of getting the lights from Rosemount. We were informed that the scholl district did nothave any old lights from any of their athletic fields. An ad was placed in the Dakota County paper and signs posted about Valley Park requesting an electrician to donate or volunteer his time to do the electrical work on the light project. Not one reply was received. Nor were personal inqueries to any avail. Mr. Setten Contacted Mr Pelach of the Central Telephone Company and was happy to j report that Central Telephone Company would donate 25ft poles. 1 Four electrical Contractors were asked to submit bids on the following specifications: 10 1,500 Watt Quartz Lights, 100 Amp Service, and wiring. We received. bids from Corrigan Electric, Valley Electric, and Lakeville Electric. Snyder Electric did not send in a bid.
