June 24, 1970
Meeting was. called to order by chairman Lambert at 8:00 PM.
Present: Emond, Freidges, Nelson, Setten and Lambert.
Absent: Nordseth, Taft and Jones.
1. Lambert and Emond had complaints from residents about the tall grass
in the Parks. Motion by J. Emond, seconded by V. Setten to contact:'
the Village maintenance crew and have them mow the Village Parks.
Freidges will contact them. Motion carried.
2. Emond will mention the fence for the Lakeville Park to the Jaycees on
6/25/70. Jaycees will contact owners about placement, obtain necessary
materials and put up the fence by the ball diamonds.
3. The question of Budgets came up. V. Setten reported that as of 3/26/70
we had $4000 in the working Fund and as of 5/31/70 and 10/31/70 the 1970
allocation was available. As of 3/20/70 we had $14,789 abailable for
Land Purchase. Lambert will contact the Viliage Clerk for updated
balances in each of the Funds She did not have them aeail able for this
meeting.
4. Bob Fors represented party who wants to put up a Pizza Chicken Beer
restaurant in Val ley Park nextoteoTom Thumb. The restaurant ownemwants
to sponsor softball teams and is willing to spent some money to fix up a
park. The Park in Valley Park at Gerding Path and 167th was discussed.
Emond also mentioned some land owned by Lakeville School District.
Further di scussion was tabled until representatives of the Owner, V.
Donnay and this Commission meet at the Park in Valley Park to determine
if it is feasible to establish two softball diamonds. The owner wants
to use the Park for tournaments.
5. Motion by Nelson, second by Freidges to change the starting time of our
meeting to 8:�o PM. Motion carried.
6. Discussion of debeloping parks. Freidges suggested we put up some
swings in the parks. Other items mentioned by other members were slides,
musile' bars and teder toders. It was agreed that Nelson would contact
one of the Village welders to determine the cost of the following:
Unbibatiab Swings
Musile bar
Teder -toder
Proposed to put up a set in the Park at Orchard Lake and Valley Park.
7. Furthe discussion on park development by V. Setten. He reviewed the
proposed hockey, rink in Valley Park. Lights, removal boards, materials
for enlarging the Warming House and portable toilet were items discussed.
He got two estimates for the portable toilets:
A. Satellite Rent $35.00 each per month. One time $10.00 i"nstall
C ation charge.
b. Twin Sanita *ton Rent $28.00 each per month for four'. One time
$10.00 installation charge.

Setten will obtain the estimated cost of the other materials for the
hockey rink. He also reported that a Permanent toilet similar to
the one at Orchard Lake would cost about $2000.00
8. Lambert will contact tthe absent members and remind them that at the
nest meeting 7/8/70 we will discuss our next fiscal year budget.
The Commission will opprove the proposed budget for each of the two
funds for next year. This proposed budget will be recommended to
the Village Council
