HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-13 PARKS and RECREATION COMMISSION Lakeville, Minnesota April 13, 1970 To Lakeville Council: Gentlemen: The Parks and Recreation Commission requests that the Maintanence Department be directed to construe picnic tables and 25 grills to be placed in existing park areas. We would like the use of certain maps on the map boards Midwest Planning would pick these up and make whatever copies they need and return them. They would also make prints so that the originals could be stored and preserved. Midwest said that this would expidite their work. Midwest Planning would also like a list of exsisting' lands owned by the village so that they can consider these in their findings. The Commission has been contacted by a land owner who has three 'lots adjoining the present park on Orchard Lake. He has quoted a price of $12,000.00 apiece for these lots. He also stated that other land around the lake was going for higher prices. The Commission feels that without investigation these lots may be priced a bit high. It is also the feeling of the commission that we would like to see what Midwest; Planning would suggest in their findings before persuing this further. The Commission has sent out several lettersof inquiry regarding land for parks and to date we have gotten one answer. This landowner stated that he 'would be back to Lakeville in June and would entertain a bid at that time. We are also in receipt of notice of resignation from George Rosel, who "stated that his activities with the Scouts and the fact that he is planning on moving out of the area felt that he should be replaced. We are in the process of finding a man to replace him on the board with the council's consent. Mr. 'Ed Pelach who is on the commission has not been present at several meetings and the commission feels that perhaps consideration should be forthcoming as to a replacement. Midwest Planning's Mr Dunbar feels that early in May he would like to get to- gether with the commission and all memberd of the council in a joint meeting to go over the recomendations that they will be making. We will be in com- munication with Mr Dunbar and will get together with the council to set a date for this meeting at the d*scretion of the council. Respe tfully Submitted, Herb. Lambert, Chairman and acting secretary
