Meeting called to order 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Jones.
Present Jones, Taft, Pelach, Freidges Nelson, and Lambert
A committee from the Junior Chamber of Commerce met with the Parks
Recreation Commission. They brought up the fact that they are interested
in seeing the land south of Antlers Park used as park area and that they
would see what they could do to obtain this area. They were informed that
P R C had already talked to Mr. Clay concerning this area and that he
would be willing to donate this land, however there were certain stipulations
that the Park Commission could not take action on.
It was suggested that builders be urged to commit park lands so that this
committed land could be taken off tax rolls and immediate action could be
started towards de of the parka.
The J.C.ts also said that they were interested in working with the Commission
in the developement of park lands. Their immediate project would be the land
across from Ericksons. This piece of land measures approximately 135 feet
wide by 900 feet long. They will draw up some sketches of their proposed
park improvement and would meet jointly at the sit'CL August 20th.
Use of some of the school land was discussed and John Jones is going to get
in touch with the school board to see what their thinking is on this matter.
Meeting adjourned 10:00 P.M.
