HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-23-69 PARK RECREATION COMMISSION
Lakeville, Minnesota
April 23 1969
Because of a closed council meeting, the Parks Recreation Commission
meeting did not get started until after 8so0 and then had a joint meeting
with the planning commission members.
In talking with the planning commission it was agreed that between our
two commissions that Vern Donnay could be brought to an understanding
about the park situation in Valley Park. Er Berger was supposed to
appear before the City Council with plans for the park development and
so far no effort has been forthcoming.
The Planning Commission talked about how we should plan ahead and be
able to present facts and figures on future development of park areas.
Also be prepared to show just what effect this would have on the tax
mil rate. Keeping in mind that once a park was established, there would
be the necessary upkeep and improvements and betterments.
They also informed us that with some contractors it might be better to
get the money in place of a small unusable area for a park. It was also
brought out that there are some lands deeded over th the city for park
areas and that Mr Farrell should be made aware of these areas and give
i an opinion as to the legality involvement.
It was then decided that since a number of the park commission members
were not familiar with the existing park areas that they meet the 10th
of May and take a trip around the area. John Jones will call on this.
There being no further business before the commission, the meeting was
adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
bm
