HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-060WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lakeville has developed a new parking facility in downtown Lakeville; and WHEREAS, the City has deemed it appropriate for uses other than vehicle parking; and WHEREAS, previously scheduled special events taking place in downtown on City property may now use Market Plaza for said special events; and WHEREAS, the following listed organizations have previously scheduled special events and now may use Market Plaza for said special events; Panorama of Progress Downtown Lakeville Business Association *St. Paul Farmer's Market and; WHEREAS, the City has established a use policy (Attachment A) for Market Plaza for the above named organizations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Lakeville authorizes the Lakeville Parks and Recreation department to coordinate the use of Market Plaza as outlined in Attachment A. Charlene Friedges, Gif Clerk CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 09 -60 CIT F LAKEVILL Dahl, ATTACHMENT A MARKET PLAZA RESERVATION AND USE POLICY The following organizations are authorized to use Market Plaza: Panorama of Progress Downtown Lakeville Business Association St. Paul Farmer's Market 1. Authorized user groups must complete a reservation process through the Parks and Recreation department. 2. Provide the minimum liability coverage as specified in the current park reservation policy. 3. Be responsible for aspects of event planned including; provide for public restrooms if deemed necessary provide necessary trash receptacles and disposal of all trash following the event electrical cost associated with the special event setup and take down within a time period that will not disrupt normal public use of the parking lot event site plan approval by city secure other permits and or authorization as required by city ordinance or as required by City Council Coordinate pre and post event parking with area businesses so there is no disruption with normal parking arrangements. Submittal of a detailed description of the proposed event in writing to include site plan, event dates and times, security needs, and other information requested by the city.
