AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 674
BEING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF LAKEVILLE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 11-2-3 of the Zoning Ordinance is amended to add the following
definition:
FITNESS CENTER: A business that provides strength machine and
cardiovascular exercise stations within a circuit .training
program, usually for the benefit of its membership, excluding
any and all group classes, hot tubs, saunas,. and competitive
sports facilities.
SECTION 2. Section 11-19-13 of the Zoning Ordinance is amended to add the
following use and parking. requirement to read:
Fitness Centers 1 space per exercise station (e.g. strength machine or
cardiovascular) plus 1 space per employee on the largest
shift plus additional parking required for ancillary uses.
.SECTION 3. Section 11-71-7 of the Zoning Ordinance is amended to read:
J. Fitness centers limited to 2,000 square feet of gross: floor area or less provided
that:
1. Adequate off-street parking and off-street loading shall be provided in
compliance with Chapters 19 and 20 of this Title.
2. The total number of stations shall not exceed one per 100 square feet of
gross floor area.
3. The use is located and developed so as not to create an incompatible
operation problem with adjoining and neighboring commercial and/or
residential uses.
4. Hours of operation shall be limited to five o'clock (5:00) A.M. to eleven o-
clock (11:00) P.M.
SECTION 4. Section 11-73-7A. of the Zoning Ordinance is amended by adding
subparagraph 2 to read:
2. Fitness centers limited to 2,000. square feet of gross floor area or less.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage .and
.publication.
Adopted by the Lakeville City Council. this 4th day of March 2002.
