HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-18-87 Lakeville, Minnesota PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES June 18: 1987 Dennis Miller called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the. Lakeville City Council Chambers. Roll call of members was taken. Present: Whitehouse, Mac- Gibbon, Miller, Sizer, Walters, Whittingham. Absent: Langhorst. Also in attendance was Alan Brixius, City Planner., Roger Knutson, City Attorney, Jim Robinette, Community Development Director, Mira Holliday, Recording Secretary.. 87.126 Motion was made by Walters, seconded by MacGibbon to approve the minutes of .the June 4, 1987 Planning Commission meeting. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. The public hearing to consider the vacation of Ionia Avenue, Illinois Avenue and 162nd Street from 165th Street to 160th Street by the City of Lakeville was .continued from the June 4 meeting. Alan Brixius gave a review of the Engineer's report of June I2, 1987 and recommended approval. There was no public comment. 87.127 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Walters, to close the public hearing. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. Marion was made by MacGibbon, seconded by Whittingham to recommend approval of the vacation of Ionia Avenue, Illinois Avenue and 162nd Street from 165th Street to 160th Street by the City. of Lakeville subject to the Engineer's report of June I2, 1987 and any other staff recommendations. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. `The. public hearing for a conditional use .permit for Joseph Duffy to build an accessory building was continued from the June 4 meeting. Alan Brixius gave a review of the Planner's report of May 29, 1987 and stated that he had visited the property and saw no problems in relation to the complaint voiced by aneighbor, Mr. Johnson, at the last meeting. Jim, Robinette also stated that he had visited the property and everything appeared to be in acceptable order. Mr. Duffy was present and presented pictures of his property. He stated that he did not wish to cause any problems with. any of his neighbors and was willing to work with them in any way. PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES JUNE 18, 19$7 Mr. and, Mrs. Johnson were again present and stated they objected to the location of the building due to the odor. Mr. Duffy stated he was willing. to relocate the building. 87.128 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by MacGibbon, to continue the public hearing pending further planning by Mr. Johnson, which also includes a meeting with the Johnsons and City staff . Roll call was. taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. The .public i;earing for a conditional use permit for John Andrusko to move a house was opened. The attorney attested that ali legal notices had been duly published and mailed. Alan Brixius stated that there was no Planner's report and turned the discussion over to the applicant. Mr. Andrusko gave a description of the house to be moved and his plans for moving it. He stated that the City Building Inspector had visited the .house and found everything in order. Jim .Robinette stated that a question had arisen as to the legality of the lot on which the house is to be moved. He suggested that the. hearing. be tabled until this was resolved. Ed Freiermuth, a neighboring property owner was present and expressed his .concern over the age. of the house and how it will be situated on the lot. Alan Brixius stated that pictures and a report would be available at the next meeting.. 87.129 Motion was made by MacGibbon, seconded by Sizer, to continue the public hearing pending further research by staff. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. 87.130 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Whitehouse to adjourn the meeting.. Voice vote was taken on the motion.
